Loved how Canada made it into the round of 16, but now I’ve got the Norway/Haaland bug like everyone else.

It’s not just that Svalbard is one of my favorite places on Earth (got engaged there in Longyearbyen, northernmost city in the world, a couple hundred miles from the North Pole, top of the world - how could she have said no??) — or that the mass Viking rows Norwegians have been doing all over North American subway stations, malls, and roads are the most wholesome form of patriotism ever (compared to maga hats - ewwwww).

It’s that Haaland, aside from being a total quintessentially Viking spirited powerhouse, is such a wonderful and humble human being. He is that literary character you just want to see win against all odds.
