Joint Statement by the State of Qatar and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Regarding the Conclusion of Lake Lucerne Summit, First High-Level Committee Meeting with Participation of the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran
Tireless Pakistani and Qatari mediation has delivered major progress to end Lebanon War. Oil and petrochem exports are waived, blockade lifted, some frozen assets released, and major reconstruction & development plan launched for Iran.
1st real test: Lebanon deconfliction cell
When you take into account both Trump and JD Vance's comments of the past 72h, it is not just a push back against Israel's efforts to sabotage the deal with Iran.
It has the broader contours of an effort to "de-specialize" the US-Israel relationship. To turn it into a more normal - and healthy - relationship.
While this will cause panic in much of Washington, it will be tremendously popular with the American public, particularly younger demographics (on both the Left and Right) and with the America First base of Trump himself.

JD Vance is not changing the conversation about Israel in the US. He is changing the entire paradigm:
He is reminding the Israelis that they are alone and - though he doesn't use this word - much disliked internationally. Israel should not undermine the only strong friend they have left.
"If I was in the cabinet of the Israeli government, I might not be attacking the only powerful ally that I have left."
And, he is reminding them of their utter dependence on the United States.
Because 2/3 of the weapons that have protected Israel (!!) "have been built by American hands and paid for by American tax dollars."
As a point of comparison, no one in the Biden admin ever spoke like this about Israel when Netanyahu was blowing through Biden's so-called red lines on Gaza...
There is some poetic justice in that Israel is the biggest loser in the US-Iran deal, since it was Israel who aggressively pushed for this idiotic war of choice.
And if it leads to Netanyahu losing the elections and ending up in jail, the justice will be near complete.

This tells you everything you need to know.
Pakistan is pleased to facilitate the repatriation of 30 Iranian nationals.
This includes 8 Iranian fishermen rescued at sea by the British vessel MMA Valour after their boat ran aground, and 22 Iranian crew members from the vessel Lenore/Davina, recently interdicted by US authorities. Both groups are expected to transit through Karachi in the coming days.
We remain in close coordination with the Iranian, US and UK authorities to ensure the safe transit and early return of our Iranian brethren to their homeland. Pakistan remains committed to humanitarian cooperation and to extending every possible assistance to our Iranian brothers.
Good news! ‘Indo-Pacific’ Command, concocted in 2018, was a misnomer in any case as it had ideological connotations, meant to rope in India in a failed strategy to encircle China! Glad that better sense, reflecting new ground realities, has prevailed!
‘Without the United States of America, there’d be no Israel’, so says President @realDonaldTrump with characteristic candour! Well, it’s Time for US to leash Netanyahu & not allow him to be a spoiler in peace with Iran & Lebanon, where Israeli aggression has resulted in nearly 4,000 deaths & over 10,000 injuries since 2 March!
Absolutely correct! Glorifying Ranjit Singh is misplaced narrow ethnic chauvinism, which has no place in Quaid-e-Azam’s pluralistic Pakistan Federation! Bhagat Singh is an authentic subcontinental hero, a revolutionary & fighter for freedom against British colonialism, for whom Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah raised his voice in Central Legislative Assembly in September 1929 in defence of Bhagat Singh, while Gandhi maintained a studied silence on this issue! Bhagat Singh, who was hanged in Lahore Jail on 23 March, 1931, deserves to be eulogised with a statue, rather than Ranjit Singh!

"My will is for you to remain steadfast, clinging to your dignity and to the dream that never dies. The enemy wants us to abandon resistance, to turn our cause into endless negotiations, but I say to you: “Do not negotiate over what is rightfully yours.”
- Quote from The Last Will and Testament of Beloved Yahya Sinwar.
- Portrait of Yahya, by Palestinian Artist Lina Jaradat.
No country in modern history has endured nearly 30,000 strikes over forty days by two nuclear powers – one the strongest military power in the world, the other the most heavily equipped army in the Middle East – and then imposed a condition for ending the war on a third front, Lebanon.
Iran has effectively made clear that without an end to the war there, the broader deal collapses, while signalling its readiness to continue fighting in support of its allies.
This is extraordinary. It overturns decades of simplistic claims that Hezbollah is merely a proxy built to fight on Iran’s behalf. A state does not risk the collapse of a strategic agreement, the continuation of war, and further direct confrontation simply for a disposable 'proxy'.
What the war has revealed is not a one-way chain of command, but a regional alliance in which Iran treats Lebanon and Hezbollah as central strategic allies, not expendable instruments.
