“The UCDA introduced a policy called the “Coffee Road Map,” targeting an increase in production from 4.7 million bags to 20 million bags by 2030, while aiming to triple the incomes of small-scale coffee farmers. Despite endorsing this policy in 2017, Gen. Museveni’s government has refused to fund it as projected. Since 2019, the UCDA has faced budget cuts. How can he then claim to be committed to the sector?,” the President @HEBobiwine notes in his Sunday missive on the contentious Coffee Bill

What an entertaining afternoon! Alongside tens of thousands of football lovers, we witnessed the thrilling finals of the 2024 edition of Masaza Cup at a packed Mandela National Stadium. Buddu clinched the trophy with a 1-0 win over Kyaggwe in an action-packed match. Congratulations to both teams for an incredible game! Ssabasajja Kabaka Awangaale!
Following the public outcry by the starving Government Sponsored students at Makerere University, today we met over 300 of them at the @NUP_Ug Headquarters and shared food items with them to enable them mitigate their suffering. We also served them lunch. These students have gone several months without their living allowances, causing most of them to starve.
Now organized under 'Makerere Hungry Students Association', they narrated the problems they have had to endure, including some female students being forced to engage in indecent acts trying to survive. Some students have developed ulcers, while others have fainted due to hunger and starvation. SHAME ON THE MUSEVENI REGIME. Each day we see scandal after scandal involving billions of shillings, yet the regime can't find money to feed the few government sponsored students!! How can we build for the future, while students go through such indignity and humiliation? How are they expected to study under the weight of hunger?
As always, the police tried to block this activity by ordering students not to come or risk being suspended! We are glad that many students decided to come and pick the little relief we had to offer despite the intimidation. The regime will always find the money to deploy and block our activities, but they can't find money to solve the problems causing the discontent! SHAME! We shall only get ourselves out of this crisis by removing a regime that has zero regard for the people!
In Kisoro District today, we successfully nominated our candidate for District Woman MP, comrade @TanaSalim aka Tana. We are very thankful for a very warm reception by the people of Kisoro. We also used this occasion to officially open the @NUP_Ug office in the district. I am super energized by the energy of our people in Kisoro.

Frame one: UPDF soldiers drag @NUP_Ug supporter Sanya Muhuydin Kakooza out of the General Court Martial in Makindye, Kampala on April 15, 2024 after he protested delayed trial (https://t.co/omWjrrEYQ1).
Frame 2, 3 and 4: Sanya who was seen donning the ruling @NRMOnline party T-shirt reacts before he's bundled onto a waiting military truck to Luzira prison after he and 15 other @NUP_Ug supporters who have been on remand for over four years pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of explosives at the army court on October 14, 2024 (https://t.co/HWeIwmIWDe).
Most of the suspects were 'plucked' from NUP presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi's campaign trail ---ahead of 2021 presidential election--- on charges of illegal possession of explosives and treachery. Their attempts to apply for bail were frustrated by the army prosecutor who told court that their sureties were not substantial and that they would jeopardise investigations which have been going on since 2021.

“The timing and context of the amendment indicates bad faith. It is public knowledge that the current leadership of Parliament has engaged in a pattern of hostility and antagonism against the current Leader of Opposition by creating and sustaining an environment that sidelines and marginalizes him in key parliamentary processes and decisions. @JoelSsenyonyi hasn’t been invited or allowed to attend any Parliamentary Commission meeting and so we ask ourselves, why now? Why not before? We think there is bad faith suddenly and the current LoP is being targeted through this law," remarked @DavidLRubongoya who has led our delegation interfacing with the Legal Committee of Parliament.

Yes, you’ve seen it right. We once had a 21 member cabinet and taxpayers weren’t too strained by administrative costs. And yes, one of the members in this cabinet is still serving on today’s cabinet. Good morning UGANDA 🇺🇬.

Yesterday at around 7:30pm, our comrade and L.3. Councillor Senono Denis commonly known as #DenCity was abducted by heavily armed soldiers who were moving in a drone. His whereabouts are still unknown. Den City is an impassioned young activist who is well known for raising the Uganda flag wherever we go and have activities. An onlooker said the drone Reg. UAK 387H had parked near the National Unity Platform headquarters for some time. While he walked a few meters away from the office, they grabbed him and forced him into the van which sped away. By now, he must be enduring untold torture and brutality from the same people who should be protecting citizens.

Police have arrested two members of the Justice Movement Uganda as they attempted to march to the European Union offices in Kampala in protest against the construction of the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (Eacop).
The protestors, many of whom fled to evade arrest, say they have on several occasions written to the Head of @EUinUG delegation about the EACOP but got no response, prompting them to try and match to their offices.

#ICYMI: In his address to the Labour Party, the President @HEBobiwine delved into the appalling state of human rights in Uganda and he also applauded the United Kingdom for imposing sanctions on corrupt regime officials and human rights violators in Uganda. This was during his September visit to the UK.

I want to sincerely thank all of you who turned up in Mbarara to celebrate with us the life of our beloved Deputy President, Hon. Jolly Mugisha. Despite the despicable actions by the police, our team made quick adjustments and ensured we had a very befitting ceremony. We appreciate one of the neighbors to our deceased Deputy President who opened his home for us after being blocked from Nyamityobora Grounds, so that we used his compound for this function. Burial is tomorrow in Mitooma. Rest in POWER Mama Jolly. You fought the good fight. You kept the faith.
