Here is to a multitalented man.
Here is to someone who, when his trumpet failed him before thousands of people, didn’t panic. He simply picked up the microphone and kept going.
And perhaps most of all, here is to those who turn massive mishaps into memorable moments. Who meet an unexpected setback with calm, creativity, and courage. Who take a terrible turn and transform it into a tremendous triumph.
Sometimes, if we don't give up, adversity doesn’t get the final note.
We do.

A’ja Wilson has said she wants her name all over the record books, and nine seasons into her career, she’s done exactly that. Just look at some of what she’s already accomplished:
✨Highest career scoring average in WNBA history
✨Highest scoring average in a single season ✨Most total points in a regular season ✨Most total points in a postseason
✨Most total rebounds in a regular season
✨Most total rebounds in a postseason ✨Most career 40-point games ✨Most 30-point games in a single season ✨Longest streak of consecutive 20-point games ✨Only player in WNBA history with a 30-20 game ✨Tied for the most points scored in a single game ✨Closing in on becoming the WNBA’s all-time leader in 20-point double-doubles
✨Closing in on becoming the WNBA’s all-time leader in regular-season 30-point games
✨Closing in on becoming the WNBA’s all-time leading scorer in postseason history
And that still doesn’t cover everything.
It’s pretty crazy to think that in just nine seasons, Wilson already owns or is approaching so many of the league’s biggest scoring records.
She has fed us tremendously well over these last three seasons, and there’s still plenty of basketball left. Now we get to see what else Wilson has in her bag to close out the regular season — and what she has in store once the postseason begins.
