words can mentally impact people for life, from their self-esteem to their attachment style. words mean things, people’s emotional sensitivity to them differs. many people are not mindful about the ones they use, especially when expressing frustration or in disagreement.
You deserve what you tolerate, and you teach people how bad they can treat you each time you accept disrespect or abuse. Love yourself enough to walk away.
Truly spiteful people will even go against their own best interests if it means they can hurt someone else.
They will even cause pain to other loved ones if it means they can prove a certain point or ruin someone else’s day.
Spite can make bad situations 100 times worse.
Marrying someone who isn’t spiteful is a blessing. That’s not to say they won’t get angry or annoyed in the moment, but when the dust settles, they can rationalise in a way that prioritises peace, communication, and the greater good. No lifetime grudge holding or pettiness…
