Hi ๐ Iโm Ben and I donโt know enough about anything. Software Engineer & DevRel. Teaching kids to code ๐ Not here often, subscribe to my RSS feed instead โป
@xolanimaphumu19 Learning never stops! We don't start teaching at a specific age or restrict certain activities to age groups ... for example I have a 6 year old who is doing KS3 (high school level) chemistry.
homeschool is great.
I was homeschooled in the 5th grade, and it completely changed my work ethic. I would wake up at 5am and get all my schoolwork finished by 9 so I could do whatever I wanted all day every day.
I discovered the freedom of just getting stuff done that year.
@xolanimaphumu19 My wife does child-led schooling, which involves teaching as well as hiring tutors for science, maths, and language classes. It depends what the child wants to do; some home ed kids we know take GCSE / A levels & go to uni, others do vocational training or apprenticeships.
@LinuxSeb Nobody said NixOS so I'm saying it. I'm a Pop!_os user but really love the amount of innovation going on there as a software engineer. Also, perhaps better licensing if I'm reading the room correctly.
Last night I was watching a conference talk called how to make accessible react components and the first piece of advice was to use aria roles like this <div role=button>click</div>
๐ญ
Please donโt do this.
@mjackson I'm doing this a lot lately and am enjoying it, still a few things (React-specific, mostly), tripping me up so keen to see what others are doing.
Just saw The Road Home and loved it, laughed out loud and I don't mind admitting I shed a few tears. If you're new to Babylon 5, there's plenty for you, but it satisfied me as a long time fan as well. Great job to everyone, and as always awesome writing from @straczynski
