@tara_donnelly1 talking at the @darzi_fellow alumni event about the benefits of virtual wards- 47% admission avoidance and 35% early discharge rate! A no brainer!
And we are go! #FMLMConf24 begins with @FBMH_UoM Dean, Graham Lord, welcoming delegates to Manchester, talking about the city’s contribution to healthcare.
We’ve had positive discussions with @RCObsGyn throughout today. We’re hopeful they’ll be in a position to say more tomorrow on offering impacted candidates who wish to take the exam in international centres the chance to do so without incurring additional out-of-pocket expenses
Things that are *NOW* normal across the NHS
- patients waiting >4hrs to be seen in A&E (& regularly waiting >1hr to be triaged)
- ambulances queuing outside A&Es waiting to offload for hours
This shouldn’t be normal.
THIS ISN’T SAFE - patients are coming to harm. (2/2)
Things that have long been normal in the NHS:
- having to eat your lunch with the wrong cutlery - yoghurt with a knife anyone?
- not being enough chairs for staff to sit on - comfy clinical waste bin to the rescue…?
- using outdated technology - faxes and bleeps?! (1/2)
