Every Day, This Couple Travels 54 KM To Water The Saplings They Planted!
Ramesh Kharmane, a forest guard from Dhamankhel village in Junnar taluka, Maharashtra, and his wife are setting an inspiring example of environmental conservation.
In 2012, Ramesh left his job in the Army and returned home to care for his mother during her treatment. It was during this time that he made a commitment to protect the environment, with his wife supporting him at every step.
Together, they spent 60 consecutive days carrying out around 300 hours of voluntary labour on a hilltop, digging 70 pits by hand to conserve rainwater.
Their work covered an area of approximately 412 metres and aimed to help rainwater seep into the ground and ease the village’s water crisis. Their efforts also earned them a place in the Indian Book of Records.
Even today, the couple continues to plant native saplings, preserve seeds and care for the trees they have planted. Through scorching heat and difficult terrain, they travel 54 KM every day to keep their mission alive.
For them, protecting the environment isn’t a one-day activity. It’s a lifelong commitments.

Some things we can change today.
Some things we cannot change right now, but may be able to change in the future.
And some things are beyond our control.
The challenge is knowing which is which.
This applies to our work, our relationships and our personal growth.
Sometimes, we stop trying too early.
At other times, we keep exhausting ourselves over something we cannot influence.
Before concluding that something is beyond our control, let’s do our best and seek guidance.
We may need more time, a new skill, the right support or a different approach. What feels impossible today may become possible later.
There will also be situations where, despite our sincere efforts, the outcome remains outside our influence.
Continuing to struggle with those things can leave us with less energy for the areas where we can make a difference.
Wisdom lies in knowing when to act, when to be patient and persevere, and when to accept what we cannot change.
Acceptance helps us redirect our energy towards our choices, our responses and the next step we can take.
Perhaps a useful question to ask ourselves today is:
“Where can my effort make a difference?” 😊

10 Signs Your Body Is Poorly Nourished and Asking for Help
1️⃣ Hair fall, thinning, or dull hair
Keratin needs protein. Hair is often the first to suffer when your diet lacks protein, iron, B12, or zinc.
2️⃣ Brittle nails with ridges or breakage
Low protein, biotin, and iron show up here fast. Nails need steady nourishment, not just nail polish.
3️⃣ Dry,dull or flaky skin
Healthy skin needs omega-3 fats, zinc, protein, and hydration. If your skin is tired-looking, so is your body.
4️⃣ Frequent fatigue or brain fog
Not normal. Your body may lack B12, iron, protein, or enough fuel. Food = energy, not just calories.
5️⃣ Low mood, anxiety or irritability Nutrients regulate neurotransmitters. A malnourished gut or poor blood sugar control can impact mental health deeply.
6️⃣ Muscle loss or weakness
Losing strength even if weight is stable? You may be under-proteined. Especially common in women and elders.
7️⃣ Cravings for sugar, salt, or junk food
These are not lack of willpower. Often signs of blood sugar swings, nutrient gaps, or poor satiety from low-protein meals.
8️⃣ Frequent infections or poor wound healing
Your immune system needs amino acids, zinc, vitamins A, C, D. Malnourished bodies take longer to repair.
9️⃣ Irregular or missing periods (in women)
Your reproductive system shuts down when your body feels underfed or unsafe. It’s a protective response.
🔟 Swelling, puffiness, or water retention
Low protein → poor albumin → fluid imbalance. Hidden malnutrition can cause swelling despite “eating enough.
Bottom line:
You can be eating plenty but still be under-nourished.
What matters is what’s on your plate not just how much.
✅ Prioritize protein
✅ Fix gut health
✅ Replenish key vitamins & minerals
✅ Balance blood sugar and hormones
Your body wants to heal.
Listen to it early and nourish it deeply.
Book mark it. Share it so that it helps someone.
