If I were a betting man, I would bet that, ultimately, the locally refined product will be way more expensive for Kenyans than sourcing the refined product abroad.
The future of Kenya’s Livestock Sector will be shaped not only by the animals we keep, but by how well we care for the landscapes that sustain them.

The parable of the musk-seller and the blacksmith
Abu Musa al-Ash‘ari reported that the Prophet said:
“The similitude of good company and that of bad company is that of the owner of musk and of the one who blows the bellows (i.e., a blacksmith). The owner of musk would either offer you some free of charge, or you would buy it from him, or you would smell its pleasant fragrance; and as for the one who blows the bellows, he either burns your clothes or you smell a repugnant smell.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari 5534; Sahih Muslim 2628)
Today marks 30 years since the Truth and Reconciliation Commission began. It’s first hearings took place in KuGompo City on this day in 1996. The first person to speak was Nohle Mohapi-Mbetshu, activist and the widow of the first Black Consciousness Movement activist murdered in detention on 5 August 1976, social worker, SASO Permanent Organiser and director of the Zimele Trust Fund, Mapetla Mohapi.
SACCO Amendment Bill--Were the majority of members ever consulted? 15% taxation!
Bureaucracy in salaries/allowances.
SACCOs built over the years by members' contributions, majority being women. Savings now on the verge of being looted
Civil Societies, take this to Court
There's a worrying report on marine fish sold in Mombasa shops — contamination levels raise serious red flags. With most coastal counties lacking proper sewer treatment, we're effectively eating from polluted waters. No one wants to own up, as it could devastate local vendors and the industry. We need urgent action and transparent testing. #MombasaFish #CoastalPollution
