If you are not ready to have a baby, WEAR A CONDOM.
Or, ABSTAIN during her fertile period.
Don't force a woman to get an implant, a coil or hormonal pills to cover your sexual convenience and primitive cravings.
I love being as lonely as I am because it's made me attuned to the smallest spark in people. I think solitude does to the heart what darkness does to the eye. Lowers the threshold at which light becomes visible
When I started Pharmacology, I thought it was just about drugs.
My ignorance deserved an award. 😂💔
I was there thinking,
"You memorize the drug name, what it's used for, maybe the dose... and you're done."
Pharmacology looked me in the eye and laughed. 😭😂
The first lecture started.
Mechanism of action.
Pharmacokinetics.
Pharmacodynamics.
Absorption.
Distribution.
Metabolism.
Excretion.
Before the drug even reaches the patient, it has already traveled more than I have this year. 😂💔
Then they introduced receptors.
Alpha receptors.
Beta receptors.
Muscarinic receptors.
Nicotinic receptors.
Dopamine receptors.
Serotonin receptors.
Histamine receptors.
Every drug seems to have a favorite receptor and an ex it refuses to bind to. 😭😂
Just when you finally memorize one drug...
Pharmacology says,
"Now let's discuss drugs in the same class."
One drug.
Ten cousins.
Each with a different indication.
Different contraindications.
Different adverse effects.
Different interactions.
And somehow...
Almost the same name. 😂💔
Gentamicin.
Amikacin.
Tobramycin.
Netilmicin.
At some point I stopped reading medicine and started reading baby names. 😭😂
Then comes adverse effects.
You finally learn what a drug treats...
Only to discover it can also damage the liver, kidneys, ears, heart, bone marrow, and your peace of mind. 😂💔
Every lecture ends with,
"Remember this side effect. It's very important."
By the end of the semester, every drug has about 37 side effects and somehow the examiner expects you to remember all of them. 😭😂
Then drug interactions arrive.
Drug A increases Drug B.
Drug C decreases Drug D.
Drug E must never be given with Drug F.
Drug G should be taken before food.
Drug H after food.
Drug I without food.
At this point, even the drugs need relationship counseling. 😂💔
Exam period is where Pharmacology becomes spiritual.
Question:
"State four mechanisms of action of fluoroquinolones."
My brain:
"This drug is used to treat... something." 😭😂
The answers were inside my head.
Unfortunately, they were undergoing first-pass metabolism.
Only a tiny fraction reached the exam booklet. 😂💔
Then you leave the exam hall.
Suddenly every mechanism returns.
Every side effect.
Every interaction.
Even the ones that weren't asked.
Apparently, the knowledge had excellent bioavailability.
It simply refused to cross the blood-brain barrier during the exam. 😭😂
That's when I realized Pharmacology isn't just about drugs.
It's about remembering enough information to make Google feel unemployed.
Pharmacology taught me that the real adverse effect wasn't the drugs...
It was studying them. 😂💔

“Your name is Mercy? You are a 4th year medical student? Now Mercy, I want you to take a photo of this wound then you will send me via WhatsApp. I will give you my number.”
The first maternal post-morterm I observed in 4th year of med school was as a result of DIC. Jana I got to see what DIC looks like laivu on the operation table. CS ya dakika 30 ilitake 2.5 hours. Scary stuff.
“If you haven't read hundreds of books, you are functionally illiterate, and you will be incompetent, because your personal experiences alone aren't broad enough to sustain you.”

Stop ignoring when your talent has been validated in multiple spaces. It's not a gimmick, it's not luck, it's not a once in a lifetime occurrence. You are GOOD at this thing. The proof is there. Accept it and act accordingly.
