This morning at 5:30 am,
I sat here for 15 minutes questioning my life choices.
• Why do I suffer in the morning at 4 am when the rest are asleep?
• Why do I suffer all the way to the gym to lift these weights when the rest are preparing breakfast in the morning?
• Why am I pushing myself?
• I am on a 48-hour fast. Why am I voluntarily torturing my body and spirit?
I looked at this 35-Kg dumbbell, and the thought of lifting it as a Goblet Squat terrified me.
But I remembered comfort is cheap, and discipline is expensive.
I convinced myself that every rep with this dumbbell is a deposit into my life savings account.
I told my mind to shut up and face the pain.
I refused to let my body conquer my mind, and the dumbbell was smashed.
It is easier to be mediocre. It is hard to be excellent.
I chose the hard road. The ROD of DISCIPLINE.
Smelt the IRON!
There is a stage every man must go through in life called blank stage. You feel nothing, you are attracted to nothing, and you are free from material things. Here, you can lose everything and still feel nothing. People can walk away and still feel nothing, such a strange phase.
