Standing in solidarity with the hardworking men and women of @steelworkers in Whiting, Indiana, who have been locked out for more than two months. It’s time for serious negotiations for a fair deal so this lockout can end and these Hoosiers can get back on the job and earn an income to support themselves and their families.

Today, on National Maritime Day, we honor the generations of American workers who built and sustained the vessels that powered our economy, supported our military, and connected our nation to the world.
We also honor those who continue to build, maintain, and man our fleets.
The United States cannot afford to fall further behind in shipbuilding, repair, and maritime logistics. Rebuilding America’s maritime strength starts with investing in U.S. yards, U.S. workers, and U.S. supply chains.
Let’s end the Jones Act waivers, implement provisions of the Maritime Action Plan and pass the SHIPS for America Act, and end the discussion of offshoring the future of shipbuilding.
We can do this.
#NationalMaritimeDay
Today, we recognize the importance of the maritime industry to our economic and national security.
That’s why we need to pass the SHIPS Act – to revitalize U.S. shipbuilding and restore America’s maritime dominance.
As a long-time @Fidelity customer, this is REALLY troubling. Fidelity needs to provide customers more confidence our funds are safe and secure. https://t.co/XuzcPfU7Zc
One ship built last year—250 is the goal. In this clip from Innovate or Evaporate, Indiana Senator Todd Young highlights the urgency of rebuilding America’s shipbuilding capacity and what it means for the future of manufacturing. You can listen on the IBJ media podcast network, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Building more ships will bolster our national security and provide new opportunities for American workers.
As this new coalition demonstrates, there is broad recognition that we need to revive American shipbuilding.

.@politico article on "long shot litigation" effort by consumers to get tariff refunds. There is another way: @Rosa_DeLauro introduced H.R. 7822 directing Treasury to write regulations to pay tariff refunds to companies that lower prices to consumers.
President Xi, in call with President Trump, again reportedly used the phrase "peaceful coexistence". While used in other contexts, it's also the phrase the former Soviet Union used during the Cold War. Of course, no one wants conflict. But we also can't have capitulation.
.@comcastbusiness Be careful. Signing up for service is an ENTIRELY different experience than terminating service! Despite using Comcast in both old and new offices Comcast sends bill after bill for early termination at old office. Contract date doesn't seem to matter.
.@VirginiaDMV Amazing service. Went online and booked appointment. Texted when I got to DMV and was called up within one minute. Titled and registered transferred car in minutes. Kudos!
.@CapitalOne Continuing saga of no help from Capital One. Long term business customer and for WEEKS have been unable to make ACH payments. Probably spent hours on the phone with customer service and, while very nice, no progress. How hard can this be????
.@AskCapitalOne Wow. Hard to believe. Have worked with customer service for weeks to get ACH payments and other account problems resolved. Can't understand why things are so difficult and not interested in spending more hours with customer service. Maybe another bank?
Unions filed a trade case against China's predatory actions in shipbuilding. Progress was being made in laying the groundwork for revitalizing U.S. capacity. Could now be in jeopardy. Stand up for workers and US economic and national security. https://t.co/ZJ3b7QNHQD
.@USTradeRep’s new Section 301 case on China’s compliance with its Phase One Trade promises is about jobs and domestic production. China has fallen more than $200 billion short. China’s got a lot to answer for.
