Mukalazi Begins Industrial Park Tour to Address Investor Challenges

JINJA- The Minister of State for Finance in charge of Privatisation and Investment, Hon. Hajjat Aminah Mukalazi, has launched a nationwide tour of industrial parks aimed at engaging investors, identifying operational challenges and finding practical solutions to improve Uganda’s investment climate.

Mukalazi began the exercise at Picfare Nytil Industrial Park in Jinja, where she was joined by the Director General of the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA), Mr. Robert Mukiza. The visit brought together industrial park managers, manufacturers and other private sector stakeholders for discussions on the business environment and investment opportunities.

The minister said the visits are intended to provide government with first-hand information on the constraints affecting industries, including infrastructure gaps, access to utilities, financing and regulatory bottlenecks.

“Government wants to listen directly to investors and understand the realities they face on the ground so that practical interventions can be made,” Mukalazi said during the engagement.

She noted that strengthening industrial parks remains central to Uganda’s strategy for industrialisation, job creation, export growth and value addition.

Mr. Mukiza said the Uganda Investment Authority would continue working closely with investors to improve industrial park services and attract both local and foreign investment. He said regular engagement with manufacturers is essential for enhancing productivity and competitiveness.

The visit to Jinja is expected to be followed by similar engagements in other industrial parks across the country as government intensifies efforts to support industrial growth and private sector expansion.

Officials said the initiative demonstrates government’s commitment to creating a more predictable and investor-friendly business environment capable of attracting long-term investment and accelerating economic transformation.

Industry stakeholders welcomed the visit, saying direct engagement with senior government officials provides an important platform for raising concerns and proposing solutions that can strengthen Uganda’s manufacturing sector.

Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo deploys 2,200 ONC mobilizers ahead of LC1 & Women Council elections

The Office of the National Chairman (ONC), under Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, has dispatched 2,200 mobilizers coordinators, pressure groups & informal sector groups to secure NRM victory in the LC1 elections.

She urged them to replicate the energy shown during the presidential campaign, and thanked President Museveni, NRM National Chairman, for funding the Bazzukulu (grassroots mobilizers) for the exercise.

The groups pledged to deliver the LC1 seats for the party.

Justin: Ggaba Toddler Murder Case, Okello Denies Charges as Court Sits at Crime Scene.

In an extraordinary move that brought justice to the doorstep of a grieving neighbourhood, Christopher Okello Onyum today stood before an open High Court session held right in the heart of Ggaba and pleaded NOT GUILTY.

The 38 year old, accused of the premeditated slaughter of four innocent toddlers at Ggaba Early Childhood Development Centre on April 2, 2026, showed no remorse as he faced charges before a community still raw with grief.

The four precious lives lost including Gideon Eteku, Keisha Agenorwoth Otim, Ignatius Sseruyange, and Ryan Odeke were all aged between one and two and a half years, enrolled at a facility serving vulnerable and malnourished infants in the community

Tension gripped residents of Ggaba as Okello, the suspect in the killing of four toddlers, pleaded not guilty during a court session held within the community where the incident occurred.

The unusual open court setting, conducted near the crime scene, drew large crowds of residents seeking justice and answers following the shocking tragedy that has shaken the area.

Ramadan outreach continues as Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye leads the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) team to Luzira Prison, delivering food relief to prison staff and their spouses expressing compassion and solidarity.

In a major boost to livelihoods, she has also donated Shs10 million to support the prison bakery, aimed at purchasing mixer machines to enhance productivity and income generation for staff.

Late Night Demolition Rocks Owino Market.

Tension gripped St. Balikuddembe Market, popularly known as Owino Market, after a section of the busy trading hub was mysteriously demolished around 10 PM on March 7, 2026 by unidentified individuals.

Authorities at Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) quickly distanced themselves from the operation, describing the demolition as reckless and unauthorized, emphasizing that no official demolition permit had been issued for the activity.

The incident has raised concern among traders and city leaders, with many demanding answers over who ordered the late night operation and why it was carried out without official clearance.

Investigations are expected as city authorities move to establish the circumstances behind the shocking demolition.
