While Russia bombs Ukraine and kills civilians, President Trump is bizarrelysending a delegation to a conference in Russia to discuss economic development.
I challenged Secretary Rubio today to explain why we would send any U.S. official to a such an event designed to prop up Putin's war machine.
Unfortunately, the current level of supplies for our air defense does not allow us to intercept a significant share of missiles. Last night, there were hits. 130 people were injured. Tragically, 22 people were killed, including two children. My condolences to all those who have lost their loved ones.
We know from intelligence that another large-scale strike may come as soon as tonight. All our partners together, and everyone in Europe, should continue working to ensure missiles for our air defense, as well as the systems, critical intelligence, and other things that help to save lives.
It is crystal clear that Europe needs its own anti-ballistic system with sufficient volumes and strength to guarantee protection against any threat.
Today, representatives of all Allied countries were present here in Ukraine at the NATO–Ukraine Council – after Russia tried to squeeze our partners out of the country and intimidate embassies.
The result was a highly symbolic meeting in Kyiv. Its main message is clear: Ukraine should be supported more. Especially in areas such as anti-ballistic capabilities.
Our partners have decided on new contributions to the PURL initiative – they are coming in June. We are also doing everything possible to accelerate Europe’s work on its own anti-ballistic capabilities.
⚡️ Budapest has reached an agreement with Kyiv on the rights of the Hungarian minority in Ukraine.
This opens the way for Ukraine’s EU accession. Hungary will no longer block it.
Trump and Stephen Miller built up a paramilitary force at DHS that they essentially promised immunity, and set it loose on American communities.
I'm not going to write a blank check for a federal agency that refuses to distinguish between American citizens and violent criminals.
“Only the total defeat of the Russian Federation and the Ukrainian flag in Sevastopol will knock the virus of empire out of the brains of Russians. Russians must see that the empire is dead."

KAT: "I don't know what it was but I just felt a calm and a peace that I don't know, had to be coming from the woman above
"I felt really confident…I felt like a kid. It was just fun out here. This is something as a kid you always dream about…to be in the NBA Finals
"All day…weird feeling. I felt like a kid getting ready to play in my Saturday and Sunday AAU games
"In a way I felt like I was seeing her in the stands
"It was really fun. It was really comforting
"Game 1 of the NBA Finals you're told how the pressure's gonna be…
"I don't know, it felt like a certain presence was here that was very comforting and very loving and I felt like I could have fun out here––in Game 1 of the NBA Finals…"
Shaq: Yes. Rest in peace to your beautiful mother"
Trump, Musk and Rubio slashed aid and scoffed that it was woke nonsense. Now they're seeing that it not only saved one life every 10 seconds but also protected us from diseases like Ebola. Their actions constituted a security failure as well as a moral one.
More broadly, their fecklessness contrasts with the courage and humanity of doctors and aid workers in Congo and Uganda, lacking adequate PPE but still risking the virus to care for fellow humans.
Trump, Musk and Rubio might learn something from them. https://t.co/kPKj7fqJFZ
During the Nuremberg Trials, Hermann Göring gave an interview to psychologist Gustave Gilbert and said:
“Of course the people don’t want war. Why would some poor farmer want to risk his life in a war when the best he can hope for is to come back to his farm in one piece?
Naturally, people don’t want war. No one wants war in Russia, England, America — not even in Germany. That’s obvious.
But in the end, it’s the leaders of a country who determine policy. And it’s always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it’s a democracy, a communist state, a parliament, or a fascist dictatorship.”
Gilbert objected:
“But there is one difference in a democracy — the people have a voice through their elected representatives.”
To which Göring replied:
“That’s all well and good, but whether the people have a voice or not, they can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and for exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.”

Doesn’t it sound familiar?
Yesterday, the IDF seized 4 students from their homes in the West Bank, including 20-year-old American, Sama Safi.
The Israeli govt didn’t tell her family or the U.S. Embassy where or why she was being taken & is holding her without charges.
America must secure her release NOW.
Factual thoughts….@ScottPelley and @mhenryschuster were embedded with my Marine infantry unit in 2009—it was incredibly violent in Helmand. They told our story well. Years later, my unit suffered multiple suicides, they came back to cover that too. I wrote him when I was hired.
Albanians just showed the world how it's done.
The government was selling off prime coastal land and protected islands to Jared Kushner and linked investors for a massive luxury resort turning public beaches and nature reserves into private playgrounds for the ultra-rich. The people said: HELL NO. Thousands poured into the streets under “Albania Is Not For Sale.” Protests turned fiery. They stormed government buildings and burnt down the Prime Minister’s house. This isn’t just about a deal. It’s about sovereignty. It’s about refusing to let your country be auctioned off to foreign billionaires while locals lose access to their own coastline. When elites sell the nation’s future for kickbacks and luxury resorts, the people have every right to push back hard. Respect to the Albanians for refusing to be colonized by cash. Other countries should be taking notes.
You can't solve problems you refuse to measure.
Yet this month, 900 ocean monitoring instruments are being physically pulled out of the water. A $368 million system. A decade to build. Designed to run 15 more years.
Gone.
This network tracked hurricane intensity, coastal flooding, marine heatwaves, and sea level rise. The data was free, public and used in over 500 scientific publications. Congress tried to stop it... twice. They got overruled anyway.
For a coastal community like FL-13 that just lived through Helene, this isn't abstract. This is the difference between an evacuation order that comes in time and one that doesn't.
Florida deserves a representative who fights for the science that protects us, not one who looks the other way while it gets dismantled.

Republicans like to say we don’t need to fully fund programs that help pregnant moms stay fed because enrollment dropped last year.
NEWSFLASH!!! Enrollment dropped because they shut down the government & starved the program for TWO MONTHS!
They should really do their homework.
To this day, Ruby Freeman still lives in hiding because of death threats. Trump called her a "professional vote scammer and hustler," falsely accused her of smuggling ballots in suitcases and casting thousands of fake votes - claims Georgia officials and audits completely debunked.

She lost her home, her name, and her safety.
Scott Pelley warned us last year: “In this moment, our sacred rule of law is under attack. Journalism is under attack. Universities are under attack. Freedom of speech is under attack. Insidious fear is reaching through our schools, our businesses, our homes, and into our private thoughts. The fear to speak in America”
The House just made two HUGE votes today against Trump and for America’s national interest:
- a War Powers resolution to end Trump’s war in Iran
- funding to Ukraine to end Putin’s war
Katie Phang on the murder of 60 Minutes: "What the Ellisons have done to CBS has now transcended just being a red flag — it is a huge honking warning sign of what is to come to CNN. And look, you may not be a fan of CNN, but we should always be rooting for the independence of our media. And yet we've seen time and time again, mainstream legacy media bending the knee and capitulating to the demands of a fucking toddler in the White House."
