Keep seeing the Astros tied to Justin LeBron. What I’ve seen of him scares me, like he’s a more talented Brice Matthews: CRAZY athlete with a lot of swing and miss.
If we already haven’t fixed Matthews, Cole, etc. why spend a high pick on a nearly identical profile?
@CoachSwit My son played his first season of varsity baseball this season and I concur. Velo wasn’t an issue, it was guys who could locate and could move the ball at will. Velo is sexy, but those guys (most often smaller lefties) were most effective.
@DjStout09@jakedc6 He’s been super lucky in those outings…it’s been fools gold. His velo is way down and he still has no idea where the ball is going. He’s injured or he’s broken. Either way, he shouldn’t be pitching in the big leagues right now.
Imagine what “they” would say if Cal was an Astro.
Thankfully, since the Astros invented the concept of cheating & no other team has ever bent a rule, it’s perfectly normal that Cal is a completely different player this season (see also the entire 2023 Texas Rangers offense).

@SanAntonioTim Right…seems like a great dude and we all love him. At that salary, it doesn’t make sense. Unless he’s Tom Seaver and Barry Bonds in one, he’s not making a difference in this dumpster fire of a season.
It was a salary dump. We all need to: Move. On.
@Republicans Every. Single. Day. There’s a new arrest of a Republican/ MAGA for SA (usually of a minor) and you still post this?
Good God, y’all are so clueless.
@SteveinLC@willmoriarty86 I don’t hate what Dana has done, and I don’t think he’s fully to blame for the current state of the team…he’s just not as good as his predecessors…
Also, I don’t think he has nearly as much runway as Lunhow did and he’s been hamstrung by the “interim GM” mistakes.
@willmoriarty86 “Ummm, well ackshually, Will…he wasn’t fIrEd.”
Stupid move by an owner who listened to even stupid-er people. Lunhow & Click weren’t perfect, but got-dang it they’re both really smart. Neither guy would’ve gotten into this mess, but both would’ve had plans to get out of it.
@TJStats Melton isn’t good though… He’s toolsy but can’t hit the ball in the air. Looks the part & has range for days (great arm, too), just can’t get on base.
It’s whatever and most Astros fans are used to it by now, but it is comically predictable when guys leave and rankings go up.
@Dune_in_Katy I see your point, but wholeheartedly disagree. They need to know things, including how to think critically for themselves. High school kids are shockingly dumb. Allowing them to use those “tools” to show how much they’ve learned is derivative.
