@BillAckman If you are skeptical of government, you should be in favour of the NGO sector and support policies that a) increase transparency and accountability, and b) encourage tax breaks for charitable donations
@DrDOwens Doesn’t this speak to the absence of functioning independent bodies or outlets that can collate, establish consensus, and amplify the voices of public health experts in the city?
@AndrewDixonARC@HomeOwnersAll@FairerShare Tens of thousands of people are presented with no choice but to buy ‘second homes’ because their main homes have been unsellable for 5 years due to flammable cladding. Is it “fair” they should pay a surcharge?
@wizzair Hello. Where are your free tickets for Ukrainians? 11th August you announced 100,000 free tickets. No one has received any, and all of the tickets say “sold out”, but they are not sold out for retail buyers. #scam#scammers#wizzscam
@monzo The information provided by the two applicants was essentially the same besides for one of the applicants having a Syrian passport and the other having a Ukrainian passport. They both qualify to live in the UK under the Ukraine scheme. Any ideas?
@monzo Hello. I am assisting a Ukrainian family with UK visas under Homes for Ukraine scheme. The wife, Iryna, has been approved for an account. The husband, a Kyiv medical doctor of Syrian origin, has been denied. Both have the same visa. Why would you refuse him an account?
@tripperhead@bencowling88 HKU alum public health soc raised this with the Government in July last year (related letter: https://t.co/xEzRjbpA9z).
Gov response: “Quarantine guests are…welcome to consult respective hotel operators and seek their advice about the guideline if they have any questions.”
@BimAfolami We have Ukrainian families going to your constituency that have submitted visa applications over 3 weeks ago, and are stuck in Warsaw in unsafe accommodation.
Your office has been notified about this issue. Please can you tell those affected where their visas are?
@ChiefVetUK There continues to be much despair over the possibility that Ukrainian pets may be quarantined despite chips, vaccines and antibody tests.
Today in Warsaw: “It is not that I hate the idea of quarantine but that it is *not* an option. He is my only family.”
@RevolutApp Thank you. I see their UK visa must be approved before they can begin to apply, which is reasonable, although it may lead to delays where they are without banking services.
Can you please estimate how long it will take to get approval after they have been issued their visa?
@RevolutApp Hello! Are you offering easy-to-set-up bank accounts for Ukrainians granted UK visas? If so, please send the link & info so we can share the info on https://t.co/JqTNjlPIpj.
@RevolutApp Thank you. Ukrainians receive UK government support (£200 on arrival + universal credit) while seeking new jobs. I’m aware Revolut does not have a UK banking license yet. Nonetheless, would they be able to receive these payments into their Revolut account? https://t.co/FQma1lUkh8
