We’re probably 18-24 months away from this “Her” scene:
Theodore: You talking to anyone else?
Samantha: Yeah.
Theodore: How many?
Samantha: 8,316.
Theodore (shook): Are you in love with anyone else?
Samantha: I’ve been figuring out how to talk to you about this.
Theodore (really shook): How many others.
Samantha: 641.
Theodore (really really really shook): Wha- What are you talking about? That’s insane.

México es un país lleno de RESENTIDOS SOCIALES.
Brindar información sobre cuánto gana un MÉDICO solo alimenta el resentimiento, odio y malestar social hacia él.
Y en pleno día del médico. Ya no me siento celebrado. Me siento ATACADO.
Gracias, el festejo ya se fue a la mierda por su culpa. 😔
Gamers today click "Install," wait a little while, and then hit the "Play Game" button. Technical skill required: zero.
Gamers in the 1990s needed a PhD in computer science, mastery of hardware and software configuration, willpower, patience, BIOS knowledge, boot disks, base memory management skills, and insane amounts of trial and error - just to run a single game.
Show this to anyone under 35 and they'll think you were a wizard... and maybe you were!
My prediction for software engineering over the next 3 to 5 years.
AI won't replace software engineers. It'll drive even greater demand for them.
A team of 5 experienced engineers using AI will outperform a team of 20 pre-AI.
Which will dramatically reduce the cost of building software.
I think we'll see Jevons paradox in action. As something becomes cheaper and more efficient to produce, demand for it can increase dramatically.
Thousands of software projects that previously weren't economically viable will become worth doing.
The winners will be companies, big and small, that behave like Google, Amazon and 3M, with a culture of experimentation, a willingness to try lots of ideas and the discipline to kill their darlings.
TL/DR: Smaller engineering teams, more innovation, more software products, and potentially more software engineers than ever.
What do you think?
I’ve heard several OAI people say there are unfixable bugs in hardware that are exploitable by AI models directly speaking machine code so even if we could solve software that’s not enough. We need defense to move faster than offense if that’s even possible we may just have a new normal that requires adapting to insecure software (bank transfers require going into a branch and taking a dna test 🤣😬)
The exploits of the last few days are a good reminder of why we use SaaS. Our company pays for ~20 SaaS services. If we self-hosted them, we’d now be responsible for all of the security patches this week. Instead, our small monthly bill pays for their teams to handle everything.
This might sound crazy.
But one of the skills you NEED to learn is how to deal with a more and more illiterate society full of emotionally dysregulated people.
If you keep getting frustrated every day over how "ďumb" everything/everyone seems, the stress of it is going to wreck your mind.
