What you are looking at on the 500 Naira note is the Hausa language, but it is written using the Ajami script. Ajami is a writing system where Arabic letters are used to write local African languages.

I want you to think of it the same way we use the Latin alphabet to write English or Igbo. 

The text just spells out the value of the currency in Hausa. It was introduced decades ago to help non-Western educated populations identify the money. It has zero connection to Nigeria being an Islamic nation as claimed in your post. 

Let’s be careful in how we spread ignorance on this app. It will not go unchecked.
