The idea of the Design Engineer (once known as a Design Unicorn 🦄 - gross) still hasn’t found its place in most orgs.
But when you find a place that gets it; Shit. Gets. Done.
We need more places to “get it”.
As the person who created it… shows the massive hole in our design philosophy: Optimizing for ease-of-use does not mean best for the user or humanity.
UX is locally moral but globally amoral. It asks "how do I make this ergonomic" not "is it ergonomic to our values or society"
It’s hard to make wonderful new things, and the first efforts are rarely ready to go right away. Even many iterations later, good work needs improvement to become great. That can only happen by pointing out the weak points. Tearing those parts down to build up better.
Hey! I’m Olivier, a creative technologist/product designer looking for opportunities in NYC! I’ll be graduating from Parsons this summer and just updated my portfolio! → https://t.co/Z0WxDboBCX
Send me all the cool places that are hiring, and please RT for visibility 🙏
Hey @DB_Presse, soll Ich jetzt also zweimal durch den ohnehin schon schwerfällig Buchungsprozess durchlaufen, weil Ich sonst 35€ drauf zahle? Das könnt Ihr sicher besser ;) #servicedesign
User researcher: what I would really like is to talk to some of these enterprise users
Org: no problem, we'll set up a time with the global head of enterprises, they'll answer all your questions on behalf of the users
So many @figmadesign launches today at #config2021!
1: 🔀 Branching
You can now handle complex design system workflows together! @shanawho did an incredible job leading this design over the past year (@rsms helped kick it off before that & @oscrse has been helping recently too)
