@SmallSchool_KS2 @Mr_P_Hillips I've hunted for evidence for them too, and found nothing at all. I suspect if there WAS anything saying they helped, it would be cited everywhere and it wouldn't be hard to find... so I think I'm with you in saying there IS nothing! Good luck trying to convince your adviser...
@ThisFoxWrites ... general online recommendations as a lot will start off saying this is a good budget pen and at the end you discover it's like £500. Not kidding! Anyway, enjoy your new discovery. Nice pens are so much fun!
@ThisFoxWrites On a more serious note, all the recommendations here are excellent and sensibly priced. Go and handle some pens if you can - I find that the size of the pen in the hand makes a big difference as their diameter and weight can vary a lot between brands / models. Stay away from ...
@ThisFoxWrites Oh god, beware Cult Pens. SO MANY LOVELY PENS! (Plus even worse, if you ever need to get in touch with them, it turns out that they are LOVELY PEOPLE too...) Oh yeah and they do a newsletter which tells you about EVEN MORE LOVELY PENS.
@SamuelWright78 Circe by Madeline Miller. The whole way through, you're constantly thinking both "this is SO good!" and "this book is SO masterfully crafted!". Utterly magnificent.
@EssexSmoggy@FischyMusic is great for sign language. Quite a lot of Christian music, which may not be your thing, but also loads of great songs about emotions, friendship and everything else a primary school could want to sing about. Highly recommended!
@DeputyGrocott There's an amazing free scheme being shared around down here in Bristol. DM me if you're interested and I can check if it's ok to share with you too! I think it's exactly what you're asking for. I didn't write it but I use it and it's brilliant!
@efozzer My Friend the Enemy by @DanSmithAuthor was a really good once for Y6 - nice non-London focus for once. I'd also love to read My Brother's Secret by him too - VERY different perspective on WW2!
@jonnybid So true! Would love to know your ideas for making it more inclusive of the ones who aren't sporty. Ours is in a fortnight so there's still time to have an influence on the plans!
✳ Coming soon ✳
Next week, we'll be releasing a brill maths transition pack, with space for workings & answers for marking. It's got 100 @SparxMaths Qs over 12 key maths topics differentiated to support all students preparing to start y7. RT if you want me to send you a copy
@AidanSevers I love The Week of Inspirational Maths ( https://t.co/yKAFakuxNo) by @joboaler for the first week of term but it would be good to dip into at transition too. Lots of positive attitudes, persistence and other good values stuff in it!
@StudyMaths My best year 5s would be totally on board with shapes 1-5 and the perimeter of Shadow 6 being what it is... But is there any way I could help any of them understand this? (Heh or any way *I* could?!...)
@CassHT No Such Thing As Dragons. There's one or two (literally only that much) paragraphs of slightly gory description you might want to skip over but otherwise it's SUCH a week-written book and SUCH an exciting story!
