Canada hosted its first ever Canada Investment Summit today. But in a 167-project list worth 1 TRILLION DOLLARS, Waterloo, as usual, was overlooked.

Waterloo is Canada’s biggest, most valuable resource. This city is a factory for exceptional talent who routinely operate from scarcity to outproduce every institution one can think of.

Yet, as AI and software eat the world, as Silicon Valley come flying in for @wlootechweek, as the world’s most talented future builders descend into town for @hackthenorth - MASSIVE industry events…

No investment plans were made to empower the most technically-gifted, passion-driven, good-hearted people on Planet Earth who also happens to deliver insane ROI for each dollar spent on them.

It is therefore no wonder that Waterloo grads often leave for greener pastures elsewhere.

Therefore, as a candidate for the Mayor of Waterloo, I traveled to the Canada Investment Summit at 5AM this morning to deliver a simple message:

Bring the Billions. Waterloo is ready.

Most people “die” as they age and face real problems. The key is to remain retarded forever and to refuse to die - no matter what happens.

Winning long term depends on your ability to stubbornly retain childlike traits like foolish optimism, playfulness, relentless risk-taking and refusal to become jaded or “realistic” in a defeatist sense.
