I think abt this a lot and wonder if it’s perhaps naive to expect to be that special someone in this day and age of roster culture/ multiple love interests and think maybe everyone inevitably ends up settling knowing that it’s just the way it goes
I'm scared of getting married. Not because of commitment, but because I'm afraid of being chosen out of convenience instead of love. What if the person I marry is still in love with someone else, and I'm just the life they accepted when the one they wanted slipped away? I don't think my heart could handle being someone's backup plan when all I've ever wanted was to be someone's first and only choice.
@moonlighba3e yeah that’s how I understood the tweet and I agreed with it, was adding the point that it goes both ways with men and women and generally follows the same pattern of romanticising a trait vs the reality
