जागतिक महिला दिनानिमित्त आयोजित 'पिंक-ई-रिक्षा सपोर्ट प्रोग्राम' या अत्यंत स्तुत्य उपक्रमात सहभागी होता आले, याचा मला मनस्वी आनंद आहे. भामला फाउंडेशन आणि रोहित पंडित फाउंडेशन यांच्या संय��क्त विद्यमाने राबविण्यात आलेला हा उपक्रम महिलांना खऱ्या अर्थाने स्वावलंबी बनवणारा आहे.

आजच्या काळात महिला केवळ चूल आणि मूल यात अडकून न राहता प्रगतीच्या प्रत्येक क्षेत्रात आपले नाव कोरत आहेत. 'Raahi Electric Mobility' च्या सहकार्याने सुरू झालेली ही 'पिंक-ई-रिक्षा' सेवा केवळ पर्यावरणाचे रक्षण करणार नाही, तर अनेक गरजू महिलांना सन्मानाने जगण्याची आणि स्वतःचे नशीब स्वतः घडवण्याची संधी उपलब्ध करून देईल.

याप्रसंगी माझ्यासोबत बॉलिवूड अभिनेत्री हिना खान आणि प्रसिद्ध रेडिओ जॉकी मलिष्का देखील उपस्थित होत्या. महिलांच्या सक्षमीकरणासाठी उचललेले हे पाऊल नक्कीच कौतुकास��पद असून, या मोहिमेचा भाग होता आले हे मी माझे भाग्य समजते. या उपक्रमाबद्दल मी भामला फाउंडेशनचे अध्यक्ष आसिफ भामला जी यांचे मनापासून आभार मानते आणि सर्व लाभार्थी भगिनींना त्यांच्या पुढील वाटचालीस भरभरून शुभेच्छा देते!

Paradise Lost.
Speaking about Kashmir is one of the toughest things to do this morning.
Pahalgam is God’s own niche, in my opinion. I still remember putting up a story from there The Azaan from a single masjid echoed through the Valley and we just fell to our knees. Definitely one of the top 10 moments of my Traveller life. Murdering Tourists is the highest form of sacrilege and the Kashmiri will be so impacted by this.. I can’t imagine how it will impact us, as a whole! Terrorism has no Soul and terrorists should imagine No Heaven. I pray for Kashmir.

In 2022 I auditioned for the part of Sarojini Naidu with @onmykayroll for Freedom At Midnight to be directed by Nikkhil Advani. I remember wearing my mom’s sari and jewellery and doing my hair like the way Sarojini Naidu did, the kind I loved my whole childhood, also with that high-placed forehead Bindi. I loved Sarojini,the Nightingale of India, even as a child because I dressed as her for a competition.
How proud I was to do this audition and it was almost like deep down I knew I Would be her!
Post that audition I changed into a ghagra choli at the @kavishsinha ‘s office itself, while someone else auditioned outside!! 😁 I had to be on stage with Falguni Pathak in an hour because It was Navratri, the Goddess season and I hoped and prayed that I would be Sarojini. It happened!
2 years later, around Goddess season :) Freedom at Midnight is out, today. The shoot that started this year took blood, sweat, tears, resolve and an entire crew working super hard despite many a hardship. Some natural, like the rain and some unavoidable like a melting prosthetic or two. We marched on because one way or the other we believed in our director’s vision (who btw always referred to us on set only by the name of the Freedom Fighter we were playing) 😊 I will never forget the various tones in which he bellowed ‘SAROJINIIII’ !! 😄❤️ I will miss it! Also the sheer deliciousness of getting to etch out and play these mighty men and women that lived and shaped our Nation.
