Limiting working hours isn't the way to improving physician well-being.

Instead, replace EHR with something user-friendly.

Simplify the documentation requirements, allow voice-driven notes & order entry, and eliminate burdensome busywork.

A 24-hour shift full of acute care management and surgery is exhausting but invigorating.

A 24-hour shift full of MAR reconciliations, computerized order entry and CDI queries is soul-crushing.

Instead of conversations around working fewer hours, lets have conversations about making our working hours more meaningful.
