As ever, even when it's free, #deutschbahn @DB_Presse will fuck it up and leave you missing connections. "Express" trains that show up 5 minutes late and then randomly stop outside stations for another 5 minutes, you know, like someone else controls the tracks and not just them

@archer_rs @lufthansa Credit to the two (!) staff though, who were completely professional and did what they could. In short if you're on an apron flight in FRA you're going to get screwed no matter what you paid.

@archer_rs @lufthansa They are remarkably consistent in screwing you. Over an hour's delay (for a flight less than two hours duration) and the excuses were laughable "the plane was still in the workshop, so we didn't know we'd need it, so there's no service, despite you booking months ago".

@germany_iam Lots of great suggestions and I've been to a good percentage of them. I'll mention two that I've not seen so far: big (ish) city - Würzburg (if you like Erfurt). Small town - Schwäbisch Hall (great art museum). Both readily combinable with some of the other suggestions here.

@PIXIES Impossible to pick one. Wave of Mutilation, Here Comes Your Man, Hey, and Gouge Away would be standout tracks on any album (by anyone) and that's ignoring Debaser, Here Comes Your Man, and Monkey Gone to Heaven. An incredible track list.

@TomRaftery A quick check suggests it is a bit inflated (~10%) compared to places near here, which is a relatively pricy area but not as bad as Munich and so on. I do think a greater number of apartments that size in big cities brings the average up.

@Tweet_Dec You're not wrong. Near ubiquitous card payment in London pubs should even make it more efficient and somehow it doesn't. The gulf between an average barman in any random pub in Ireland versus a London pub which should be a license to print money is amazing.

@Ryanair @EamonRyan We had multiple 3+ delays last year travelling via both Dublin and Kerry airports last year and you didn't even offer an explanation. No drones involved. Do you expect him to stand at the end of the runway with a shotgun or something?
