@hellspatisserie I find it very worrying that a lot of young people have migrated towards "dehumanisation is fine as long as the person I'm doing it to is bad enough" rather than sticking with "dehumanisation is the weapon of fascism, and I refuse to stoop to the level of a fascist."
the chatgpt favicon on chrome browser on light mode appears as a white icon, not a black icon or any darker color, so this is not chatgpt (idk what we're talking about but i just tested it)
idk if i could ever be a journalist.. like there are 5 bajillion ways to write the same headline and it's always going to contain evidence of your bias
not including descriptors is as much evidence of bias as including them. both left and right wing media are guilty of this. the issue is bias assumes you're too stupid for further research or nuance. idk

i've been thinking quite a bit about the ways in which gendered descriptions are so widely accepted... like in news headlines that describe someone with "35 year old woman..." And if you were to add race to the headline, sometimes that's to promote some certain narrative, but
what about gender? and age? Descriptors are important, but should we always include them or always exclude them? like do you understand what i'm saying here
@frannybow_ haha real answer, i’m not really part of hxhtwt anymore but i was like 3-4 years ago and i have oomfs who got into it around then who are still in it now ! so ongoing thing really
by god i just checked oomf’s account and they’re regularly arguing left and right (good for them i just don’t the energy to waste on very clearly stupid people)
@xPXGx@RCrewss@TheCartelDel@ZakugaMignon + it’s already making people dumber as a consequence. the people who use AI regularly literally cannot think for themselves in certain aspects of their lives, and they don’t care because why should they? it’s honestly very frustrating to see and an unfortunate reality
@xPXGx@RCrewss@TheCartelDel@ZakugaMignon unfortunately people are relying on it so much that it’s becoming a crutch they can never leave. and i’m not sure that it would change that much if consumers didn’t buy into it. the people who invest in it do so because it’s profitable in ways that don’t need the average consumer
