@thosethatcan My parents look after their friend’s dog when they go on holiday. Said friends went round for the evening the other day and when it was time to leave the dog just settled down quite happily thinking it was staying rather than going with them! 😂😂😂
@SoHereWeAre_ @WhistleblowingT It won’t if you don’t have enough short term to make it to long term though. People should NEVER feel bad for having to make difficult decisions to look after themselves in the moment.
@WhistleblowingT Do what is right for YOU and don’t listen to the horrid comments. The attitude of some strikers towards those who aren’t striking for whatever reason is quite frankly appalling and behaviour they wouldn’t tolerate from their students!! It makes me so mad! 😡
@richardjarogers@Teacherglitter @WhistleblowingT It would only be deemed so by people whose brains are messed up enough to think that which is unfortunately getting more common as people keep branding innocent hugs inappropriate! Hugs are hugs!
@WhistleblowingT I was hugged at primary by teachers, even in secondary. Honestly don’t know how I would’ve got through without them at times. The world nowadays is too messed up making innocent hugs into bad/in appropriate/unprofessional things. Kids thrive on hugs.
@alice_m_xxx @MrCeeY6 @WhistleblowingT And btw I’m sorry if I seem to be getting at you, it’s not personal, but I don’t judge anything about strikers apart from when they call others scabs! I get why they do it, I just petition, write, research, work to rule, many other things behind the scenes other than strike. ❤️
@alice_m_xxx @MrCeeY6 @WhistleblowingT And yes I have survived on home made sandwiches for months to afford a weekend “holiday” for mental health reasons!! Just because your MH affects you one way doesn’t mean it’s the same for everyone!! (I’m a TA so believe me I KNOW how tight money is & can be!!!)
@alice_m_xxx @MrCeeY6 @WhistleblowingT So you have PTSD - it doesn’t mean everyone is the same as you! I know from bitter experience that “if I don’t get that holiday/break I can’t go on” feeling. I still have the scars as a reminder so I would ask you to please stop judging people u don’t know. Thank you!
@alice_m_xxx @MrCeeY6 @WhistleblowingT I don’t see many of those striking supporting those who don’t strike! It’s the total lack of empathy & understanding from strikers. And honestly with explanations like that it makes strikes seem tantamount to blackmail to be honest. Call me a scab all you like it bounces. 🤷♀️
@alice_m_xxx @MrCeeY6 @WhistleblowingT I see my point about mental health went straight over your head! NOBODY should be made to “support others” to the detriment of their own health and well-being full stop! Your attitude and attitudes of other strikers is what makes me anti-strike!
@alice_m_xxx @MrCeeY6 @WhistleblowingT Oh and believe me I don’t feel upset or attacked - I feel APPAULED that those who would tell kids off for name calling at school are doing exactly that for their colleagues who just happen to have different views. Striking or not is a very personal thing!
@alice_m_xxx @MrCeeY6 @WhistleblowingT My conscience is clear. My union is there to protect me and my health and well-being. I’ve been at points where the knowledge of a holiday is the only thing keeping me alive so I don’t judge others. I joined a non-strike union for a reason!
@WhistleblowingT Oh don’t you love how the same teachers who would give a child a detention for calling another child names are calling those not striking scabs! 🙄🙄 So mature and so understanding and compassionate of others. I’d rather be a scab than resort to that level!
@alice_m_xxx @MrCeeY6 @WhistleblowingT Scab is 100% a slur! You know NOTHING about the personal lives of those who chose not to strike! The holidays could be all that is mentally keeping them going or many other reasons to choose that. There is only so much money. I’ll be in school with my students
@ghostteacher84 @tes@NEUnion It seems the teachers may care about the students. The unions don’t! And this is from a school LSA who totally gets the reason for the strikes but also has a son worried about his 100% attendance award for being sick!!
@tes@NEUnion I work in learning support and I have to say I cannot fully support these strikes while schools still dare to think 100% attendance awards are a good idea. Scrap those & I may rethink!
@StevenBeale18@NatashaMrsSmith Holidays?!?! Oh bless. I’m a learning support assistant & yeah we do get holidays (though have a little planning) but teachers have A LOT of work during the “holidays” - I certainly couldn’t do it! (My summer “holiday” is spent doing theatre.)
@mandy_judson@arlenephillips Oh in that case I’ll get my flute out next time I’m at the theatre and play along because obviously according to you that’s ok. Oh that’ll be fun.
