The silence in the world media and from world leaders is beyond insanity. Anyone with an ounce of dignity, justice and humanity would be raging about what happened in Gaza in the last few weeks, which has included:

- 322 children killed and 609 wounded according to UNICEF
- ⁠No aid allowed in since 2 March
- ⁠15 paramedics and rescue workers “executed with their hand tied” and buried in mass grave
- ⁠Israel has seized more land and increased illegal occupation

I guess we have now accepted this as the norm but NO this is NOT normal and it is NOT acceptable. If we don’t stand against this in whatever way we can, including the bare minimum by raising our voice, then we have NO humanity.

"إذا كنتم تقرأون هذا، فهذا يعني أنني قُتلت - على الأرجح مستهدفًا - على يد قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي. عندما بدأ كل هذا، كنت في الحادية والعشرين من عمري فقط - طالبًا جامعيًا لديه أحلام كأي شخص آخر. على مدار الثمانية عشر شهرًا الماضية، كرّست كل لحظة من حياتي لشعبي. وثّقت الأهوال في شمال غزة دقيقة بدقيقة، مصممًا على أن أُظهر للعالم الحقيقة التي حاولوا دفنها. نمت على الأرصفة، وفي المدارس، وفي الخيام - أينما استطعت. كان كل يوم معركة من أجل البقاء. تحملت الجوع لشهور، ومع ذلك لم أفارق شعبي أبدًا.

والله، لقد أدّيت واجبي كصحفي. خاطرت بكل شيء لأنقل الحقيقة، والآن، أخيرًا استرحت - وهو أمر لم أعرفه خلال الثمانية عشر شهرًا الماضية. فعلت كل هذا إيمانًا بالقضية الفلسطينية. أؤمن أن هذه الأرض لنا، وكان أسمى شرف في حياتي أن أموت دفاعًا عنها. هي وخدمة أهلها.
