School hasn’t even started and teachers are already stressed about the expectation of running extra curricular activities. @Sflecce and @fordnation are setting us up to fail. Again.
@michmaniscalco We need to let it go, ESPECIALLY in our destreamed 9 & 10
Classes. It creates unnecessary barriers. The skills our students need can be taught using much more accessible & relevant texts. I refuse to include Shakespeare in my Junior English courses next year.
@NicholasFerroni Teaching high is saying, “I can see that you are still on your phone. Because I have eyes.” every single day until the last day of school.

Teachers are expected to fix all the ills of society and failed parenting yet simultaneously have their expertise disregarded, professionalism and dedication denigrated, and personal character questioned.
Gee... wonder why so many teachers are quitting.
Thinking you know what teachers do because you went to school is like thinking you can be a pilot because you’ve ridden in an airplane.
Either way, you don’t know what you’re doing when you find yourself up front.
We can't have unrealistic expectations for educators and then gaslight them by saying they need to practice self-care.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
@Edu_Chaos A long time ago I realized that making a big deal about lateness to my class just made some kids skip altogether. My standard greeting is now “oh good, you’re here!”
@theDRAMAgoat1 Student: you’re a b*tch me: ok Student (a minute later, on his was out the door): b*tch! Me: yes, yes. we’ve already established that. Anything new to add??
