Hey @JacobsonNY104, @NYSUT and public school advocates urge you to REJECT the expansion of charter schools. Stand with educators, parents, students and not billionaires advocating for charter expansion. Charter schools can’t fill their current seats - they don’t need more!

“School choice” is a lie. It is a choice only for rich private interests to monetize a public good for personal profit. It hurts poor kids and kids of color. It is a corruption of the commonweal that redistributes wealth from the have-nots to the haves. End it now. #txed#txlege
Hey, @JamesSkoufis! You pledged to do everything possible to avoid harsh education & higher education budget cuts, including asking the ultra-rich to pay more! Now the State has put HUGE funding cuts on the table. Will you step up for students, educators, and parents?

It's absolutely unacceptable that 467 billionaires increased their wealth by $731 billion during the pandemic, while 30 million Americans lost their jobs and now face hunger and eviction. Now, more than ever, we need an economy that works for all, not the 1%. The Senate must act.
Can we get something straight? There's no debate about whether people WANT schools to open. EVERYONE wants schools open this fall. The question's whether it's safe. That other countries can open schools is yet another indictment of this administration's bungling of the pandemic.
