$3.47 vs $1.38. same prompt, two video models, and most people picked the cheaper clip as the more real one.
that one comparison sums up october pretty well. here’s the rest of the month👇

· video got cheap, and long
openai switched off the sora api on sep 24, so october was the first full month without it. wan 3.0 and seedance 2.5 took the top of the leaderboard, both at 30s per clip, and the price gap between them pays for more drafts per idea.
then kling 4.0 landed on oct 15: up to 30s in one pass, 10 keyframes, 15 references. the skill that matters now is directing: where the shot starts, where it turns, what has to stay the same.

· consistency became a model feature
openai shipped chatgpt images 2.5 on oct 5. google shipped nano banana 2.1 the next day at about half the per-image price, with multi-turn character consistency built in, and retired nano banana 2 on oct 29. black forest labs put out flux 3 image plus open-weight klein.
in september we said: write the identity once, only change the shot. this month the models started handling that part on their own.

so what’s left for the people building on top?
taste. knowing what makes a double exposure read as one image, or what separates a designed glitch from a broken file. that’s the part myshell agents package into one tap.

2/ AI Pixel Art Generator
Drop in a portrait, pet, or street shot and rebuild it in crisp pixel form, with cleaner shapes and a tighter palette.

seedance 2.5 vs wan 3.0 is the side-by-side everyone’s posting this week.

same prompt, two clips, two price tags. $3.47 and $1.38 in one test, $1.44 and $0.80 in another. plenty of people say the cheaper one looks more real.

here’s what we think that price gap does to how people make video:

1/ you get more drafts.
at half the cost, a creator who used to render 4 versions now renders 8. the extra 4 are where the good shot usually shows up.
2/ testing moves earlier.
cheap renders turn video into something you sketch with. try the lighting, try the pacing, try the ending, then commit.

3/ comparing models becomes part of the job.
the posts going viral this week are A/B tests. creators are building their own benchmarks: same prompt, same reference, price in the corner.
4/ the brief gets more valuable.
when every model renders a good-looking clip, your prompt, your reference image and your shot list are what make the result recognizably yours. write the identity once, change the shot.

5/ the savings go into length.
wan 3.0 runs up to 30 seconds in one take. cheaper seconds mean more creators will try full scenes, short ads and music video cuts.
our take: falling prices reward the people with the clearest idea of what they want. the cheaper a render gets, the more a good plan is worth.

what’s your go-to video model right now, and what does a clip cost you?

september on myshell, short version:

– character consistency: write the identity once, only change the shot
– isometric 3D posters: one idea, a whole miniature scene
– seedance 2.5 changed how we think about video cost
– risograph, the style most filters get wrong
in october we're featuring community work. reply with your best gen from september 👇

Aesthetic Analysis | Risograph
most "riso" filters just add grain and call it done.

real riso prints one ink at a time, so layers never line up perfectly. where two inks overlap you get a third color for free. shading is dots, not gradients. and you only get two or three colors, which is why it looks designed instead of filtered.

what we add to the prompt:
two-color risograph, fluorescent pink and blue, halftone shading, slight misregistration, uncoated paper texture

[MyShell.AI @myshell_ai]

Seedance 2.5 costs more per second than 2.0, has no fast tier, and doesn't do 4K.

still the bigger update. you can now edit a specific moment in a clip.

hand glitches at 0:11 in 2.0? regenerate the whole thing and hope the rest holds. in 2.5 you fix 0:11.

with draft mode you explore at 480p and only render 1080p for the one you keep. per-second price matters less than how many gens it takes to get a usable clip.

how many does it take you?

@GrokBotRadar I’m curious what happens when Notion is a step behind. Does the manager still treat it as the source of truth?

Before generating the next shot, check five things:
· face geometry
· hair silhouette
· wardrobe construction
· signature object
· color hierarchy
If one drifts, fix it before making the shot harder.
Save this. then change the world around them.

Generating a good character once is easy.
keeping them recognizable after changing the camera, action, location, and light is the real test.

[MyShell.AI @myshell_ai]

Start every prompt with an identity block:
age + face geometry + distinctive feature
hair + wardrobe + signature object
then write the shot separately:
camera + lens + action
environment + light + composition
Copy the structure. Change the details.
