I started "vibe" porting this app to @reactnative/@expo. I tried twice, once with Claude Code, and once with Cursor + GPT-5. Both started out strong, but the further into the port they got the more broken things became and eventually went down unrecoverable rabbit holes. Even going task-by-task with a PRD.
I think vibe-coding works well with smaller projects, but starts to fall apart on larger codebases.
Now I'm back to manually building the app for full control, mixed with vibe-porting components one-by-one. That seems to be a mix that works well.
