I was carrying my niece yesterday evening, playing with her. There was a Holy Bible on the table, and at a point, I placed her on my lap and began to read her some scriptures. I read Luke Chapter 1.

An elderly woman sitting beside me was observing. Then after a while, she asked me if my niece could understand what I was reading (she’s a little over a year). I said no. She asked me why I was reading then. I don’t know how, but I responded that “faith comes by hearing, and by hearing the word of God.” Honestly, I did not think of that answer, but when I jumped out of my mouth, I realized it was the perfect one.

I explained that faith does not come by understanding. It comes by hearing. Even if you do not understand the word of scripture, by hearing it alone, your faith is built up. Actually, you don’t need to understand it, because by its nature, faith is not capable of being understood. That is why Paul described it as the assurance of things not known and the evidence of things not seen. So I was reading to my niece, not for her to understand, but to build up her faith by hearing.

After I gave her this explanation, the woman stood up and said she had received her Word for the week.

When I was a bachelor, I took my girlfriend (now wife) to the market where I buy foodstuff from for her to see where I buy different things from. Since she wasn’t familiar with the area.

One day I went alone and the woman I buy fish from asked after my babe. I said she was fine.

The woman then said, “I hope she don at least finish secondary school sha”.

Chisos!!! So these people think say na small pikin I carry 😭. Only God knows what they must have said after I left when I brought her.

I immediately told her that it was NYSC I met her oh. That she’s done with university.

My wife has a petite body which I really like, many people see her and don’t ever believe she even has 2 kids.
I always love the surprise on their faces.

When last did you commune with God for let’s say 3 hours without tongues?
We MUST be able to pray in our understanding too o!
Also, when last did you pray in tongues under your breath with focus for one hour.
The focus here is not the disparaging of tongues, it’s the presence of our souls and faculties in prayers.
I worry that we are becoming “zombies”—who carry out spiritual activities without soul and presence of mind.
The balance is important.

Who remembers those days we used to listen to drama over the radio? It was so interesting.

Because you couldn't see, they made sure you heard everything:

The door opening and closing,
Legs of chairs scraping the floor,
Spoon scratching the plate,
Water pouring into a cup
Cars driving off or screeching,
Rain falling.....

You can't see it but, in your mind's eyes,you can create a vivid picture of what it going on.

It was beautiful. Very entertaining.
