@X help, if you can. 🙏🏻
I am looking for a new sewing basket, like this one belonging to my granny.
I can’t find anything like it.
No wicker, no rattan, no woven sewing basket/work basket.
I have searched every combo of words and cannot find anything remotely similar.
Does anyone crafty here know of nice ones- not from Amazon/temu. Or a brand that still makes them. A proper sewing box if you know what I mean.
This one has such nice details but it’s covered in decades of grime and needs a little tlc. It doesn’t have a namebrand, just said ‘foreign’ underneath. 😆🤷🏼♀️
My daughter has just taken up sewing classes and I’d like to get her her own box.
Any help appreciated.
Wow, c. 9,500 year-old woven baskets from a Spanish bat cave! 🤯
They look like they were made yesterday rather than by hunter-gatherers during the Mesolithic period!
Made of twined esparto grass, exceptionally well-preserved by dessication, they were discovered in the ‘Cueva de Los Murciélagos’ (Cave of the bats) during 19th-century mining activity. Originally thought to date to the Neolithic, recent analysis shows they are some 2,000 years older.
