Based on all the reports that have come out about Chris Ilitch, my guess is Yzerman had been handcuffed the whole time. Maybe he had a deal he was going to take for Larkin and Chris said no so he quit. I firmly believe Steve stepped down because he couldnt make decisions.

Justin Verlander is working with FOX Sports, and players keep getting caught off guard, having fun with him.
Justin: “Hey, Justin Verlander here -“
Manny Machado: “Hey, didn’t you just retire, man?!” 🤣
NBC News: within 15 minutes of the Cornell campus alert on the sexual assault in November 8, 2024, tips came on to the campus police:
* the names of men
* the existence of a GroupMe fraternity group chat where frat brothers were discussing what happened
* two women at the house that night said the fraternity brothers assured them the incident was consensual — and later asked one of them not to talk about it
* a screen recording of a Snapchat conversation among Chi Phi members from that night, where one advertised “free p----y” in an upstairs bedroom
* a caller said one of the men identified was her ex-boyfriend, and he told her that he “had attended a party at Chi Phi” where a woman had been “sexually assaulted by several males and coerced into consuming ketamine and other drugs.”
And more.
Much of the information was never passed on to the Tompkins County DA Office.
Multiple people have told me not to engage with you, but I’ll just add one thing: Saying it’s the same defense when they’re been a. clearly worse and b. were missing both corners and their 2nd best pass rusher isn’t goal post shifting; it’s just reality.
No matter how low Robert F Kennedy JR goes to lick Trump’s shoes it will never be low enough to Make America Healthy Again because he doesn’t know what he’s doing. He had a chance to get forever chemicals out of our food and water. Running the FDA he could have made it a mandate to get them out of our food. That would have forced it out of our water and he did neither. It’s all a grift.

It’s official! With its stance, the @NHL has decided to serve as an advertisement for Russia’s imperialist war into the 2026–27 season as well. For the fifth consecutive year, the NHL’s position will help prolong 🇷🇺 war, leading to the deaths of far more people. Please share this!
The whole organisation could learn a thing or two about McLellan’s honesty, transparency and candour regarding certain topics. Probably the most consistent feature during what’s been a very turbulent Red Wings off-season. #LGRW
This is just despicable by MS NOW, which has accepted stolen taxpayers dollars for 38 illegal ads. Give me a break with this bullshit statement too. So your hosts are on air all day saying this is illegal while you are taking the money and running the ads? Just gross.
#LGRW@DetroitRedWings I have been a Red Wing fan since I was about ten years old. I watched games on a small black and white tv back in the mid-70s when they were absolutely horrible. All my friends followed Montreal and Toronto, I was the only kid in my far east side neighborhood group to like the hometown team.
I read the box scores every afternoon after school and collected all their hockey cards. My brother took me to my first game just weeks into Steve Yzerman’s career. He scored and Ron Duguay had a hat trick against the Hawks. Weeks later I was in the military and off to basic training.
The Wings were my connection to home. They were like my Linus blanket. During the late 80’s I was stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C. I would sit in my Nissan Pathfinder at night and listen to the WJR radio broadcast of the game- the Great Voice of the Great Lakes was crystal clear at night in N.C. Probert, Yzerman and Kocur flying around on the ice with Bruce Martyn calling the game. A little later I was in Russian language training when the Wings drafted Soviet players. My instructor was a tough Ukrainian lady but she taught me many words and phases related to ice hockey. It was a cool time to be a Wings fan.
Fast forward and I’m stationed in Tacoma, Washington. I’m living and breathing Wings hockey and watching every game on tv if I was not busy with training or deployments. I would drive to Vancouver or fly to San Jose or LA if time permitted to see them. I saved money and flew home for the 1995 cup final to watch them get throttled in games 1 and 2 by the Devils. It was heartbreaking but they were still my tea
In 1997 I was home on leave when they won- it was unbelievable to feel that energy only to be crushed days later by the Vladdy tragedy.
Years later, in 2002, my brother @MotownFats bought tickets for the finals in Detroit against the Hurricanes. I flew home and watched them raise the cup with that power house team. Joe Louis was beyond electric. A month later I was in the Middle East preparing to go to war. I wore a faded Red Wing ball cap during the times I didn’t need to wear my helmet. The team was always with me.
I have always looked forward to the start of the season. It’s been a tough watch the last ten years but “through thick and thin” right?
I have gone from season tickets to maybe 4 or 5 games a year to 1 game last year. I have bought all the jerseys and spent a ridiculous sum on hoodies, hats and other Wings stuff.
No more. I’m not putting a red cent in the pocket of Chris Ilitch. The team I love is severely broken. The beautiful logo is now the laughingstock of the league. There is no sense of urgency and no sense of direction. It is truly a rudderless ship. What decent player in their right mind would want to step into this disfunction? We are in for a long dark road. Oh, and don’t get me started about District Detroit. What a disaster with broken promise upon broken promise after over 300 million in public subsidies.
I will always love my team, and it truly is my team, but I cannot support the current ownership group.
For all the “She should’ve known better, she went to a frat house” garbage people, Gisele Pelicot was sleeping in her in bed next to her husband of nearly 50 years and was raped by dozens of men over 10 years.
Where exactly is it safe for a woman to be?
(Hint: it’s nowhere)
After a couple of weeks of stewing, just couldn't shake the fact that Alex Ovechkin appeared in a pro-Putin ad, and that it would color how people viewed him -- forever.
On his 22nd season, his choice -- and his legacy.

Article of mine was published today in @washingtonpost . In it,I describe why Russian citizens—led by Ovechkin—are currently acting as promoters of Russia's imperialist war. Also, how the @NHL is contributing to the war's prolongation and a higher death toll https://t.co/HpZcGm84kQ
This is so brutal, so cruel, so horrifically unfair.
There is nothing that shows the horror of the Trump administration in this country more than this.
Have you ever noticed we live in a country where a 95-year-old man can walk into a mud pit in Chicago, call his band The Fuckers, and start reciting “Enter Sandman” like he’s giving a TED Talk from the afterlife?
William Shatner. Ninety-five. Riot Fest. Douglass Park. Thirty-five minutes. Spoken-word heavy metal. In the mud. With people cheering like this is normal.
It is not normal. It is magnificent.
He did “Crazy Train.” He did “Ace of Spades.” He did Metallica. Not sang them. Talked them. Like Captain Kirk got trapped in a guitar amp and decided to negotiate with Satan instead of the Klingons.
Behind him: actual musicians. Marcus Nand. Phil Soussan. Grown men who have paid rent with real notes while a nonagenarian stands there going, “What the F is heavy metal?” and somehow makes it a question worth answering.
Brian May is on the record. Tony Iommi is on the record. The album is called *What the F Is Heavy Metal?* which is the most honest title in music since someone first admitted most of it is just louder complaining.
The crowd ate it up. Of course they did. We will watch a man old enough to remember radio as furniture stand in wet dirt and dare death to tap him on the shoulder. Death probably took one look, said “I’m not dealing with this today,” and went to find someone easier.
You’re never too old to live out your dreams. That’s the line they always use. The real line is: most people quit the second it gets embarrassing. Shatner waited until embarrassing became the whole act, then sold tickets.
Follow @wickedsmaahht before the rest of the timeline figures it out.
