This will literally bankrupt the U.S. If you ever wondered why NOAA/NWS is in the department of commerce, I have some news for you. Every single $ of our economy is impacted by the weather. Agriculture, Energy, Travel, Logistics, Defense, logistics of every major company, etc I could go on but you get the idea. Seems like this will quickly get reversed, we can hope.
Hi all. Breaking my Twitter silence to make a statement on behalf of myself here. NOAA, the parent agency of the @NWS indiscriminately fired a number of employees yesterday. A thread of comments & advice for those fired. 1/18
I spent the first 21 winters of my life in the snow, and honestly, I was excited to leave it behind when I moved to Florida. But there's something special about seeing all my neighbors and their kids come out to enjoy it, especially since it's the first time for many of them.
We appreciate everyone's patience over the past few days. With that said, lets get into some survey details regarding what exactly happened on May 10, 2024 👇(thread)
First off, here's a zoomed in image of the tracks the tornadoes took as they impacted Tallahassee.
First 2 shot on Canon EOS R50 by me, and second 2 shot on LEICA Q by @JackLatterman. Not too shabby for a couple of photography noobs with no tripods #ncwx#Auroraborealis
5x Timelapse of massive #Wedge waterspout just offshore of Clearwater Beach, recorded from the Wyndham Grand Hotel Live Camera @NWSTampaBay#tornado#FLwx
A huge congratulations to the inaugural winner of the Outstanding Chapter Efforts in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award, Iowa State University (@isuams)! 🏆
This is the first year we have introduced this award, which will become an annual award alongside the COTY awards.
