Polkadot resource model - TLDR edition

1/ Coretime = CPU (Compute) You buy an NFT for 1 month of processing power. It expires when the time is up.

2/ JAMKB = RAM (Storage Space) A new utility token granting high-speed active memory storage rights on the upcoming JAM (Join-Accumulate Machine) upgrade. It acts as a rate-limiter to stop resource-heavy decentralized services from hogging the network's capacity.

$DOT remains the flagship token for security, governance, and collateral. But the initial supply of JAMKB will be fully owned by the DOT DAO.

How the DAO decides to distribute it, and whether purchasing it with DOT results in a token burn or a treasury lock is the next massive economic decision for the ecosystem.

The Web3Summit 2026 is over.

Unlike last year, the conference was not livestreamed, and I didn't get to attend it myself.

It seems that you can get some nice screenshots of the new Polkadot t3rminal / W3S Pay from these newly public repos, if you ask your AI friend nice enough.

These are the "merchant/terminal" part – i.e. what a vendor sets up when you are purchasing something from them.

Only a couple remain - I guess trying to improve the network through feedback wasn’t all that it was cracked up to be when the moneys not there 😅
