RN calls me to verify non-emergent med that was ordered <2 min ago and I *know* I’ve already verified it. I’ll say “huh, I don’t see anything in my verify queue, has it already been verified?” Just so the call wastes the RN’s time just like it has mine.
Is this bad?
one time i was so hungry that i ate a cookie that had been on the counter in the emergency department for like 2 weeks and people were like who ate the counter cookie?? where did it go??? and i was like haha guess we will never know BUT IT WAS ME I ATE THE COUNTER COOKIE
@sassypharm I went to management as a last resort. I often played the “this is what’s best for the patient and I thus I will not change my mind” card and that seemed to be effective. Sometime reminding them there is a patient involved gets the result
@sassypharm Yeah sometimes the older techs didn’t listen to me but I didn’t take “no” for an answer. I would listen ti and acknowledge their rationale but then respond with my rationale and expectations. If they still have pushback I escalated to management.
