Introducing our 2024 Ambassadors 🙌 Ranging from medical students to fellows, these young and aspiring ophthalmologists are ones to watch. They’ve been invaluable YMDC members over the past 3 years, and we’re thrilled to officially welcome them as Ambassadors! #TeamYMDC
"When applying to fellowships, a phone call from an attending can also go a long way. Personal connections can carry a lot of weight." - Dr. Wiley
Thank you, Dr. Wiley for taking time out of your busy schedule to mentor a group of our YMDC members! 👏
Dr. Mike Quist has been an ophtho “big bro” to me from the start. Crazy to think I met him as an MS2 when he was a PGY2. Now I’m a PGY1 at his alma mater and he’s a first year attending at @ClevelandClinic . We’re so proud & happy to have him back at @dukeeyecenter for a visit!
This week we hosted our 2nd ophtho wet lab for @SnmaDuke students. Ophthalmology is just one of many surgical specialties in need of greater diversity. Early exposure opportunities are key to closing that gap. Thanks to @DrJulliaEyeMD@dukeeyecenter for support #MedTwitter
Happy Saturday! Today we’re introducing Nicholas Johnson, a 4th year medical student @DukeMedSchool & a rising intern @dukeeyecenter. Born in Jamaica & raised in Texas, Nicholas is a graduate of @pittofficial. He will be an Assistant Section Editor for the Refractive Section!
I’m not crying—you’re crying 😭! Seeing my patients' (especially a fellow physician’s!) reaction to their new vision after surgery reminds me why I am blessed to do what I do every day!🥹😭🥰
