How much has tax gone up under the Conservatives over the last parliamentary term, per household?
"It's difficult to calculate..." - @BimAfolami
'I can tell you... taxes have gone up £13,000 per household since 2019', says @SophyRidgeSky.

We've had 5000 days of Tory Rule today 😳 I've done some maths
🔹Since May 2010, the
NATIONAL DEBT HAS INCREASED,
on average,
by a staggering
£380 MILLION A DAY
- EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR #5000DAYS
Which begs the question....
Where has all our money gone?
I wouldn't trust the Tories with my shopping list, let alone the economy 😡
FACTS
David Cameron became PM, after Gordon Brown, on May 11th 2010, 5000 days ago.
In June 2010 he said the national debt was £770 billion (other sources quote £903 billion, but I'll use HIS £770 billion for the calculation)
By end Nov 2023 the National Debt had grown to a colossal £2,670 billion (Source:ONS)
That's an increase of £1,900 billion.
Divide that by 5,000 days of Tory Rule and gross mismanagement.
It means an increase, on average, of c£380 million every single day for 5,000 days.

NEW: Broadcast union @bectu which represents many BBC staff says: “This is a deeply concerning decision from the BBC…taken with the ongoing controversy over the appointment of the BBC chairman…it risks given the impression of double standards on these issues.”
Here’s the video in which Vote Leave promised shorter A&E waiting times once we left the EU.
Now, six and a half years after the referendum, the number of people waiting for more than four hours in A&E is the highest on record.
The championing of the NHS to win Brexit, by people who knew they were going to dismantle the NHS is fraud to the level of criminality. And I am sure those buses convinced (at least) 500,000 to vote Leave which is, as it turned out, all they needed. Sickening.
In 2023, there must be no fence-sitting. Either you stand with a corrupt govt allowing your health system to collapse, or you're with NHS workers as we fight back against the greatest assault on the NHS in its 75 year history. I know where I stand. Do you?

If I was a Tory I’d be saying I have paid my taxes, where is my service. I don’t understand why anyone can back this system/govt that can only hurt them (don’t know how private medicine works, but surely they use the same ambulances? Or do they have a different number? 998?)
This means they get the National Insurance years that normally go to a parent who is off work looking after children (as you're working you'll usually be getting from work). This can add £1,000s to a state pension

Mesmerising watching - and agree with a lot of it - but a little surprised given his views that he has remained a member for more than fifty years. (Perhaps, he says hopefully, there may still be a centre-right out there - somewhere - to rebuild).
As the energy price cap raises again, we need an emergency budget now, to freeze energy prices, and to tax oil and gas giants.
We're doing all we can to support people in Wales, but UK Govt's failure to address this crisis will result in further hardship for many families.
