@JesterJum There are plenty of options for avoiding subscriptions. JellyFin replaces Netflix. LibreOffice replaces Office 365. A NAS replaces cloud storage. Yes there is some technical hurdles, but some YouTube videos and used hardware from eBay can make it all possible.

@EricRSammons 10% doesn't hit everyone equally. If I only make $40K per year, that 10% is going to be harder for me than someone who makes $500K If I gave 10% directly to the Church, I'd be unable to send my children to Catholic school.

@NinaPanickssery My parents were in their late 50s-60s and still working when we had our children. They would help out on weekends, allowing my wife and I to have date nights, but using them for daycare during the week was not an option. By the time they retired, my children had entered school.

Providing government funded services that protect, heal, educate, and so forth makes no one an indentured servant.

@csmjr91090 @BeSaintly Strawman fallacy. No one expects healthcare workers to be slaves to the general public. The crux of healthcare being a right is that it should be affordable and accessible without barriers such as excessive cost and a lack of facilities.
