Poverty can have a devastating impact on a child’s educational attainment, wellbeing and mental health, and their life chances.
We cannot hope to achieve a strong economy and strong communities for as long as millions of our children are growing up in poverty.
Details below 👇
As children return to school today at the start of the new term, it is a national disgrace that 4.3 million of them are living in poverty.
We’re calling on @Jeremy_Hunt to make 3 policy changes to lift 1 million children from poverty in the UK.

Saddened today at the death of Glenys Kinnock after a long illness she bore with fortitude. All who met Glenys admired her for her warmth of personality and for her passionate support of the best of causes. 1/3

Proud that Keir has chosen to set out his vision for Britain at @InstituteGC#FutureOfBritain conference early next week. He will join our Exec Chairman *and his predecessor* Tony Blair to discuss on stage.
Important moment for @UKLabour, progressive politics and Britain.
Such fun speaking to some of our potential future Labour MPs, @JeevunSandher, @alexmclabour, @catkinson80 and @Andrew_Lewin_!
They are all providing Britain with a different political choice: a new and revitalised Labour ready to tackle the issues of our time.
As part of our ‘Meet the PPCs’ series, we spoke to @JeevunSandher, @catkinson80, @alexmclabour and @Andrew_Lewin_ about what Labour’s missions for Britain – to reboot our economy, revitalise our public services and re-energise our communities – means in their marginal seats.
Thank you for your time, @justinmadders.

Today starts #NAW2023 , but take-up of apprenticeships has declined over the last decade.
Young people are losing out on opportunities, & the economy isn't getting needed skills.
Which is why I'm launching my #SkillsRevolution campaign👉🏾https://t.co/D7wJx2aD9R

Thank you for your time @SarahChampionMP and for the important work you do to hold the Government to account on the implications of their aid cuts.
I am proud that Labour will attach much higher priority to combating global poverty.
Today @emekaforbes spoke to @SarahChampionMP.
Labour believes that we have a clear moral responsibility to help combat global poverty.
In Government, we will strengthen the UK aid programme and bring development issues back into the mainstream of decision-making.
