Re: Manta DAO vs. Kujira
I agree (to an extent) with the likes of @RoboMcGobo that Kujira should be looking to expand across Cosmos. Kujira needs more exposure in general. Cosmos also needs better cooperation to maximize a bull run.
What kind of cooperation? How about some combination of @kujira = @osmosis = @injective = @shade = @neutron alliance, which would be a MAJOR benefit for the entire ecosystem- especially if it can simplify the experience for 1st time users (and not add anymore tokens to the equation).
Why the need? To call each chain a hub is counter productive & confusing for onboarding purposes. P v P hurts Cosmos. And new users need a single landing place to get their bearings BEFORE learning the intricacies of IBC. The time to cooperate was yesterday.
Is Manta the entity to push this cooperation?
Ehhhhh. Let’s marinate on this for a minute.
First, why is cooperation essential? Well, it would make liquidity & activity appear unified, allowing Cosmos to size up against other ecosystems: for perspective, 95% of DeFi users think Tron is the #2 ecosystem because of how rankings are calculated. Solana is #3.
Cosmos is fractured by design. If Cosmos was viewed as the sum of all of its parts, it would be viewed as a more composable & secure rival to Ethereum. Perception is reality in crypto. Narratives backed by actual users & communities rule. Engagement is contagious. Attention fuels momentum. Nobody cares about the tech. Devs should not engage in narrative building with the typical out-of-touch philosophical tweets that only get liked by bots & other devs. This is largely helpful & makes the ecosystem look impotent & boring. (Also see: @cardano)
Knowing all of this to be accurate, Cosmos can flex its muscles & maximize a bull run by appearing more coordinated up front while remaining sovereign & ultra secure underneath. It can start with the heavy hitters listed above.
Back to Manta: The fact here is that Manta DAO is not “kujira” and they have to do whats right for $MNTA holders 1st, which causes some dissonance (after getting CP funding). The DAO has to convince everyone that their idea has value that can be returned to the layer 1, not just its own treasury. This will be a tough task as the broader community knows MANTA doesn’t lean into the KUJI token enough. They will need the Osmo team’s vocal support to get this prop passed (also see: @Migaloo_Zone).
But the good news is, this is a very minor proposal so either outcome would be symbolic at best.
Finally, I don’t like DAO tokens that are also used for incentives or liquidity or paying founders. I have warned about this for a long time. It doesn’t work. Incentives are not aligned with an economy centered around an unnecessary voting chip. Also, POL as a concept is still suspect for me. I didnt supoort the liquidity deal with @StargazeZone & wouldn’t support this current one if i had skin in the game. In fact, I see the $MNTA token itself to be a problem: an obstacle to cooperation & growth. It relies on pairings with more valuable layer 1 tokens to appear valuable itself. I don’t believe the token has any true value. If the Manta token didn’t exist, the DAO would be more aligned with the broader $KUJI community. Why? Because LPers rather than passive stakers would be running the DAO & LPers are simply the more valuable contributors here.
Let me land the plane: We need Cosmos to work better. I hope some productive discourse occurs regardless of the outcome of this inconsequential proposal. POL via DAOs is a half baked idea that definitely doesn’t need a token to work. It’s even divisive in this case. And we (Cosmos) NEED to appear like 1 ecosystem to outsiders for the sake of onboarding, retaining users, & promoting organic narratives. Part of the solution involves cooperation instead of competition over fractured liquidity + simplifying access for new users & DeFi experts alike.

@gloefflmann What is so striking about media pundits, professors and sundry zoom class elites is that they have no self-awareness, no self-reflection, no introspection, no personal responsibility.
Empty conduits of politicized agitprop devoid of all substance or facts.
I still can’t get over that a certain guy emailed another guy ON CHRISTMAS saying he wanted to attend a wild party right after he could GET AWAY FROM HIS KIDS, and he he hasn’t acknowledged this email AT ALL and has been deboosting all mentions of it
Let's put the pieces together.
The letter to officials in Minnesota demanding they turn over voting lists. The raid of the Georgia election office. The declaration he wants to "nationalize" elections.
He's getting ready to try to steal the November election. We won't let him.
I have a provocative piece in The Free Press: "Will We Regret the Release of the Epstein Files?" Personally, I regret not denouncing this moral panic more fervently from the beginning.
The Epstein Files Transparency Act passed the House by a vote of 427-1. The lone no vote was from Rep. Clay Higgins (R–La.), who wrote: “If enacted in its current form, this type of broad reveal of criminal investigative files, released to a rabid media, will absolutely result in innocent people being hurt."
Can anyone honestly say that he was wrong? I cannot.
Jeffrey Epstein was a monster, and we are well rid of him. But these files by their nature contain rumors and outright falsehoods—because they are investigatory records, not established facts. We are well on our way to smearing as a pedophile anyone who had some connection to Epstein, no matter how incidental or irrelevant.
This ought to give privacy advocates, civil libertarians, and opponents of mob-driven witch hunts considerable pause.

MAGA, I’m sorry to tell you this but your entire movement was born from the anti-American schemes of Russian intelligence, fascist gay oligarch Peter Thiel, and infamous pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
I might lose some with this one, but hear me out.
I can believe that Elon Musk never went to Epstein's island, nor did anything inappropriate with him – except for having a relationship with someone who was then already convicted of soliciting prostitution from minors.
Not because I think Elon wouldn't do anything like that, but because there's no clear evidence of anything else and I operate on evidence.
I would even have respected him if he had come out and said something like:
"Look, I know these emails look bad. I honestly didn't know Epstein was a convicted p3do at the time. I thought he was just a financier party boy, and I got connected to him through [such and such].
He invited me to his island. I had heard there were some "wild parties" there, but I was not aware of anything illegal. I just thought I was going to blow off some steam. Anyway, scheduling conflicts [one on my side and one Epstein's side] prevented me from going. With time, I learned more about him and cut off communications. I am for the full release of the files."
However, he didn't do that. Instead, he lied. He repeatedly said he "refused" invitations, but several emails prove he didn't. He straight up responded "yes" to an invite to the island and asked about "when are the wildest parties" going to be in another.
He claims those emails are being "misinterpreted", but there's simply no way to misinterpret them, nor is he explaining how.
He blames the "legacy media" for "lying" about the situation, but he doesn't say how they are lying. Everything is coming straight from him.
Again, we can't prove, for now, that Elon went to the island or did anything illegal with Epstein. But we can say for a fact that Elon Musk asked to go to the island of a convicted p3do to attend his "wildest parties."
That's terrible in itself, but Elon's reaction of lying on top of it is just a bigger red flag that makes me thinks there's a lot more to the story.
But he is so used to lying at this point. He thinks he can get away with it because he feels like he does due to the fact that he lives in an echo chamber he built for himself, filled with sycophants who repeat his lies like gospel.
America is not and must never be about federal agents shooting American citizens in cold blood, breaking down doors to arrest people, or sending 5-year-olds to detention centers.
ICE must get out of Minnesota now. It must get out of Maine now. https://t.co/tTTNVcbpam
Durango, CO — A masked ICE agent is seen on video snatching a phone from an elderly woman filming during a peaceful protest, then physically attacking her and throwing her down a hill. Other federal agents are seen assisting in the assault before retreating behind a fence.
