The Shia today are organized, united, and mobilized solely because of the blessed state Imam Khomeini established. The Islamic Republic is the nerve center of Islam, and because of this state's capacity, the Shia are dignified.
Without the Islamic Republic, the Shia would return to the era of Taqiyya: weak, divided, and dominated. The Islamic Republic is even more than for the Shia; it is a place of refuge for all free Muslims and free people across the globe.
That is why Imam Khomeini, and later Shahid Soleimani, said "The Islamic Republic is our ultimate shrine; if this shrine falls, other shrines will fall too" and "the preservation of the Islamic Republic is the ultimate wajib."
It's the state that made us dignified, not anything else.
To the Iranian National Football Team (Team Melli):
You endured the unfair and discriminatory treatment of the host country, the U.S., yet you fought on the pitch with utmost motivation, dedication, and sportsmanship.
Though you did not advance to the next round, you captured many hearts across the world as people spoke in admiration of you.
The Iranian nation rejoiced with you and wept with you, but they are proud of each and every one of you.
You won the hearts.
Ashura is a time of remembrance, sacrifice and reflection.
Today, on the 10th day of Muharram, we are reminded of Imam Hussain's unwavering commitment to truth and dignity. His timeless legacy reminds us of the enduring values of faith, service to one another, and the belief that justice is always worth fighting for.
Our City’s strength comes from the many faith traditions that shape it — and our shared struggle against injustice and oppression.
May we carry these values forward as we continue building a more just City for every New Yorker.

The episode on Shiism by Imam Tom Facchine has been taken down following his public apology acknowledging mistakes in how Shia Islam was presented. His willingness to publicly admit errors is praiseworthy and reflects sincerity and intellectual honesty.
At the same time, since no clarification was given regarding the specific claims that were mistaken, many misconceptions about Shia Islam continue to circulate. This series aims to address those claims and provide a more accurate understanding of Shia beliefs and sources.

So its increasing looking like these entire peace negotiations were just a performative charade from the Americans to save face after the humiliating militarial losses over the past few weeks— they needed to recalibrate optics by shifting the narrative away from what was a defeat on all fronts and a blatant turnover in the regional deterrence dominance they enjoyed.
They lured Iran into thinking they had designs for sincere diplomatic engagement in good faith, to find a alternative solution to armed confrontation. They did not.
They just needed to cover up the losses they'd endured in the eyes of the American public; amid decreasing economic growth metrics, rising inflation and rampant disillusionment with the current administration— all multiplied by this crisis.
They needed to only make it seem as if Iran was desperate for a deal; that the Iranians came to them (not the other way around) because the US was in such a position of power as the victor here, and could dictate terms.
So they put on the whole show; got Pakistan in on it, and flew half way across the world for less than 24 hours of talks, all to walk out of it citing unreasonable demands.
That's why they keep going back to nagging about nuclear commitments; because they know there's nothing actually there, when the Iranians were already in agreement over it long before. Because they were never actually there to secure anything really, they just needed to make it look like they held the authority and were putting Iran in its place.
They needed Iran to stop attacking their regional assets, their gulf allies and Israel instantaneously; so a ceasefire was first brokered through indirect channels. They knew their regional hegemony had already been considerably weakened, and Iran's persistent in volume of attacks was unexpected.
But they couldn't admit to that; so a offramp was necessary. This was it. Stating you want negotiations for lasting peace; claim Iranians remain unreasonable; retake the narrative away from being dictated by footage of Iranian strikes on your assets day after day; ultimately concede on other fronts but present a joint venture on Hormuz tolls as a massive financial victory; have it paid in crypto through the Trump-Witkoff firm.
They will probably just leave it at that judging by Trump's rhetoric esrlier when asked about the talks today. That he's now indifferent to what the negotiations yield because they already won and whatever happens from hereon will only be more of a victory for the US— either way.
When they full well now know they have been expertly taught a lesson unlike ever before and still risk such magnitude of economic ramifications if they ever seek direct confrontation with Iran again, which they cannot afford to endure.
For the first year of this administration, Trump has made it clear he is only seeking quickfire, short-term victories— smash-and-grab style spectacles like the Maduro kidnapping or the MOAB detonation in his previous term— that do not require longterm strategy or bring about any blowback.
They will most likely increase their engagement in central and Latin America furthermore now; they're looking for smaller adversaries to bully and dominate because they know that's more fitting to their current capacities. Cuba sadly looks to be next on the hit list.
I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dr Kamal Kharazi, former Foreign Minister of Iran whose untimely death came from the wounds inflicted by Zionist terrorist attacks.
I first came to know Dr Kharazi during his years as Iran’s envoy to the United Nations in New York, and our friendship carried through his distinguished tenure as Foreign Minister. He was a man of rare learning and genuine warmth: always thoughtful, always gracious.
The world has lost an exceptional diplomat and I have lost a dear friend. My heartfelt condolences to his family and to the people of Iran. His passing is a reminder of the terrible cost of this conflict. This war must end.

Aggressors will see our might.
