When we started, only about 20 learners out of 46 could read fluently. Today, we have at least 30 out of 46 reading fluently! I am praying and working hard so that, by the end of this term, all my learners can read, identify sight words and sound letters correctly!

The children must read everyday in class, whether it takes up the whole 4 periods, if they don’t know how to read, they will not solve any other problem!

I’ve added these three books to my collection, together with the Jolly Grammar (2) handbook from the Jolly Phonics workshop, we ca make this happen.✨

Other tricks to help;
1. Let the learners write spelling test every Friday from their weekly sounds and vocabulary words.
2. Identify the learners that cannot read to give them individual attention during learning support.
3. Recommend reading books to parents who are willing to buy books from PNA.
4. Use peer learning in class, let those who are fluent readers assist the others.
5. Use the EGRA tool to evaluate their progress. It was implemented for a reason.
6. Please, stop sending learners to the next grades who can’t read!!!!!!

Today we met with our officials sponsors @DebmarineN as the top 10 and hearing the CEO Mr Willy Mertens stress the importance of growing beyond just the crown really spoke to my purpose.

For many, the @MissNamibia2025 journey might just be about the glitz and glamour but, truly we take so much from this experience and we are so blessed to be exposed to the platforms we have now.

We need to make sure that, the people who look up to us can see that beyond the flashlight and heels, there’s something greater and that’s to make sure every Namibian feels represented and they too can be here one day!.💜💎

The meeting also highlighted the significant role @NBCNamibia plays and how since their partnership with Miss Namibia has made a tremendous contribution in our society and given both organizations better and greater audience.

Debmarine being an official sponsor is not only beneficial to us as contenders or the winner, the organization is on board to ensure every part and puzzle especially the creative industry benefits from the partnership.
