BYD has a U.S. Headquarters and a 550k sqft factory making Buses and Trucks in California. It doesn't sell passenger cars here because margins are razor thin - about 3% (or 700USD) a car net in China. So shipping alone would likely wipe out profit even without tariffs. Buses and trucks are much better return. This is purely an economic problem, not a regulatory one.
