BREAKING: US strikes have now hit two drinking water tanks in Sirik, southern Iran, cutting off all drinking water in the district, per IRIB.
Iran has warned 2 hours ago it will immediately place all regional Gulf energy infrastructure under continuous missile fire, and with this US attack, water desalination infrastructure which the Gulf depends on for over 90%, would specifically become major targets.
@jake_063020 If those of us that "know", can pool our resources and go to the poor people and provide for them the resources that they need and the means to lift themselves out of poverty that would change their material reality. Like NGOs do.
The difference is we'd be political
Fine, but that's not the solution.
The way to reach a solution to imagine the ideal democracy and work backwards till you reach a reasonable midpoint between reality and the ideal.
In the video, the solution is education, but education is nothing without material change
@jake_063020 To be clear, education is very important but its not the first thing to approach poor people with. Education is for people like us who know where food for the week is coming from.
For poor people the first step is alleviate their poverty first before education
@jake_063020 Hmm. That's why I said the masses or a vanguard. Doesn't necessarily need to be the masses.
Nigeria is not that bad, if everyone understood that we have the same enemy people can pool in this way.
We already see signs of this in Nigeria already, everyone is developing
@jake_063020 animosity against the government, well not everyone but a significant block.
You can build dual power without education, but you'll need education to maintain it.
So that I'm being clear education is VERY VERY important, but its not the first thing for poor people
@jake_063020 Individuals ALONE cannot make the change, agreed. But Individuals can definitely pool together and provide for themselves by building dual power.
Secondly, the people should prepare a revolution where they forcefully remove the enemy. Whether thru mass action or vanguard
@jake_063020 that they could have female children and those children would not simply be married off and not take care of the parents in old age.
It wasn't until the material conditions around the issue changed did people change and the education was adopted
@jake_063020 It unfortunately doesn't.
Same example, in China they was a situation where people would abort female babies, the government decided to educate them, it didn't really change anything.
Not until it became normal for women to work in factories did the people believe
cost of living is actually hire when ya underdeveloped lmao.
It means almost everything you can use to enjoy life is not local content, has to be either outsourced or shipped in or foreign content.
giving the world cup to the usa was a stupid decision.
this tournament was supposed to bring the world together. instead we’re talking about shootings, visa issues, travel restrictions and whether fans from certain countries will even be able to attend
Will the BBC do a long monologue about the United States' human rights record, its treatment of migrants, and the killing of its own citizens? And will they refuse to broadcast the World Cup opening ceremony, as they did with Qatar?
Let's keep the same standards and the same energy.
