THIS JUST IN! 🎥 Yesterday, our long-time colleague, Prof. Hasan Jeffries (@ProfJeffries) of Ohio State University, spoke at a rally of over 1,000 students to denounce SB1.
In an era of deep censorship and repression, we SNCC veterans are re-energized by the many students and educators standing up for justice. SB1 is a dangerous bill that seeks to dismantle Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs in higher education, silencing voices and erasing fact-based history.
But OSU students and faculty aren’t backing down. We are extremely proud of those continuing the legacy of resistance. From the frontlines of the Civil Rights Movement to today’s fight for equity in education, the struggle continues.

@ProfJeffries I don't know if it was the anger management courses, "just a country lawyer," or the skunk and the possum, that took me out, but let this be a reminder that there is no shade like southern shade.
There is also a full slate of virtual programs including TODAY'S (8/9) workshop, "Disability, Language, and Public History" and a five part theme study webinar starting 8/29 "World War II and the American Home Front" among others! https://t.co/LiNZABZQHY
Friends, @ncph is supporting some fantastic mini-cons this fall. The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is hosting "Condition Report: The State of Public History in the South" https://t.co/PTtP4gr8PZ
