I contributed a commentary in Nature Photonics on Philipp Kukura's groundbreaking study on single-protein optical holography. I am looking forward to a wave of innovative research that will enhance the sensitivity and precision of holographic microscopy. https://t.co/qkWl7viPHw
@ChiaLungHsieh Thank you for your perspective on our work! I really enjoyed reading your take. The outlook on long-term characterisation of a single proteins is very exciting.
I've always wanted to delve into virus imaging.🦠🔬 Please check out our newest preprint, where we introduce the use of the non-human-infecting virus, bacteriophage T4, as an effective and straightforward bio-ruler for 3D super-resolution imaging.📏 https://t.co/So1jo3F8xU
📢 Excited to share our new preprint "Three-dimensional multi-target super-resolution microscopy of cells using Metal-Induced Energy Transfer and DNA-PAINT"! https://t.co/CPVTMYjYdv

A short 🧵👇
I had to share these videos. To see how we get the polarizability and scattering phase of single proteins, head over to @NaturePhotonics: https://t.co/cAEjRIX2aV 5/5
We can use the phase information to shift the focus in post-processing. No defocussed measurements anymore! For this measurement, the best focus is around +150 nm. 4/5
We create four phase-shifted channels (0, π/2, π, 3π/2) which are combined to get phase and amplitude of the scattering field. Here, we are moving a mirror to demonstate that with gold nano particles. 3/5
By using a Mach-Zehnder type interferometer, we can illuminate the sample in total internal reflection and get full control over the reference and scattering field. Advantages of this design are high speed and light throughput. 2/5
My first paper at @OxfordChemistry is out in @NaturePhotonics: Single-protein optical holography! Big thanks to Emanuel Pfitzner and Philipp Kukura. We improved the sensitivity of optical holography by orders of magnitude to detect single proteins. 1/5 https://t.co/cAEjRIX2aV
MiFoBio is approaching! I'm looking forward to nice talks and interesting discussions. If you are interested in Metal-Induced Energy Transfer and/or FluoLifetime Single Molecule Localization Microscopy, please come to our workshop or simply let's meet there. #MiFoBio2023
Our new preprint is out. FL-SMLM + ISM =💪Check it here👉Doubling the resolution of single-molecule localization microscopy with image scanning microscopy https://t.co/MsIOpSpxiz
Preprint peer-reviewed and published now. Check out the work where we use graphene-induced energy transfer (GIET) to quantify nanoscale cholesterol-induced thickness variations in lipid membranes with sub-nm sensitivity. @TaoChen77217349 @JoergEnderlein

Do you have a confocal microscope in your lab? Then you can perform 1-nm single-molecule localizations in it with only a few modifications. We present #RASTMIN, an alternative to #MINFLUX that can be easily implemented in existing confocal setups. 1/6
