Awww. Machete will “kill” me with praises😊😊His friendship with me, that started when he was in prison because of my reporting on and advocacy for police prisoners, caused him a lot of problems in prison. He told me he would sometimes first threaten another hunger strike to be allowed to call me. On my last visit he told me how he wrote a letter to me and gave it to his mother to get it to me. She was found with it as she left prison and they took it from her and banned her from visiting her son for so many months. Machete was put in solitary.. I asked him what the letter was saying that was so bad and he said nothing other than consulting me and thanking me for all that I was doing for them. Anyway, many people stood with them and I am glad he’s thanking all of them, one by one.
